This is the bit I struggle with. Surely the most passionate fans are exactly the ones who you claim would support CTWD? Why aren't they prepared to get to the ground 30 mins early to join a demonstration against the thing that is meant to be the worst thing to happen to the club? These same people you're expecting to tick a "No" box on a ballot form, then post it back? It doesn't add up.
I think it'll emerge - long or short term - that AA will do what he thinks is best for his companies, which isn't the same thing.
------------------- Course if we go down to league 8 most of the protesters will do what they did when we were **** and not bother going again.... I would even say if we had got relegated last season half the season pass holders we have now would not have bought a pass.. Me i dont care if we change the name. But i would still be going if we ended up playing in a league below Filey. Loyal supporter here since 65 Loving this season and last season. Thanks to the Allams and Steve Bruce
I've made it clear i want nothing to do with CTWD. I'm backing Mr Allam all the way in whatever he decides. A benign dictator its what ive always wanted for us. He's the boss he makes the decisions. He's done a ****ing brilliant job so far, long may it continue.
Only the most passionate fans turn up to march. What OLM like you in the west stand making no noise.. Or me shouting and singing my head off E1 I dont go on the demos But im as much a fan as you...
I never suggested you were any less of a fan than me, but you don't give a **** what your football club is called, so none of this should be of any interest to you. Oh and you've no ****ing idea how much noise I make.
So you have supported Hull City since 1965 Filey and you don't care about changing the name of the club ?
I'd be interested to see if the FA have any rules in place for such a ballot. Or perhaps the leave the details to the club. I can't see how you can have a vote for all pass holders. A large percentage would be children. How could they possibly vote.
OT but i have NEVER understood why some people equate this to demonstrating how much of a fan you are. I'd define a fan as someone who remains as passionate - whether that be vocally or otherwise - no matter how the team is doing and is as prepared to go to Torkey away as they are to Old Trafford. And I know you said you were there during the lean years. That to me shows you're more a fan than anyone who decided to start going recently but sings their heart out every week.
This is how I imagine a CTWD demo would be Austin St. John as OLM Thuy Trang as PLT Walter Jones as Stuart Blampey Amy Jo Hohnson as BCC David Yost as Obadiah
FYI Id never go on a demo, cos our owner doesnt give two ****s about people walking around outside shouting, no matter how loyal a customer they are. I would support a 'no show' protest, a walk out / in at 19.04 and an agreement not to buy any merchandise as these are (perhaps) the only things he'll pay attention to.
If City retained all member numbers, then I'd want everyone who's bought a ticket to have a vote, but they've stopped using them and only have records going back about a year. Also, I believe that season ticket holders is the minimum the FA will accept and I think AA is aware of this, as it's what he volunteered at the meeting and I don't think he'd do anything he didn't need to. The problem is, I don't expect he'll give any fan group any involvement, we'll just get a leading question to vote on, then it will be up to the FA to decide if they accept it, as any name change is completely at their discretion.
Is there any indication of what people like sponsors think of the name? I heard MKM using City Tigers on something a bit back.
You can do a virtual march in conjuction with your march in person for those people who can not attend. We used to do that kind of thing once in a while with groups I have worked with. Get people to make and take a photo of them with a small sign and get them to upload the photos to a flicker page you create. It will add some numbers to your march total.
I'm not sacred of marching. If the FA said we'll stop the name change if you organise a march then maybe you are right, a march would stop it. The object of our campaign is to persuade the FA to reject the application. If we do that then whatever you or Assem Allam say we'll be Hull City. I've always been a nobody. I'm perfectly happy as a nobody. The last thing I want is a place on the board. If we stop the name change then I'll retire into my past life and enjoy watching Hull City. I'll reply to some of your other stuff in a few minutes.
He may put that on the ballot paper. But if I was sitting on the fence I'd be more interested in the views of Ehab and his sisters about keeping their inheritance in Hull City before putting my cross on the form.
