Apparently you heard someone singing it on Tuesday? Come on Lambo, it was you wasn't it. Get the axe out on the pitch at half time on Saturday mate!!! I still think it could work without all the Trumpton-esque picato stuff.
It seems to catching on......
It actually sounded pretty good, though it was fairly obvious that those around me had no idea what it was and as I couldn't remember the words beyond 'left school Friday' I'm afraid I wasn't much use either. Having now heard it I'm encouraged that it could work, but it's a complicated one, it will take a lot of effort to get it going.
I knew a lot of three day millionaires back in the day, a more honest bunch of lads I have never met. They worked very bloody hard under terrible conditions and when they got home they bought rounds of drinks for the house and made sure they gave there mums some pocket money before they went back to sea too. I knew a few that did'nt make it back as well, that is a great song to symbolise our city and our club but only the older ones now will appreciate it.
it needs regular air-time at the circle. A flag would help if anyone cares to invest! I guess part of the problem is that them's that are deciding are not locals and therefore cannot understand the traditional cultural passion something like the memories of our 'three day millionaires' can inspire. I reckon at least 60% of the circle crowd were either part of a three day millionaire family themselves, or indeed very close to one.
nice one No.1. Is the momentum building? Albeit very very slowly. (smiley thingee icon) when i get back on a PC, i was going post on CI to suggest a new theme tune for the Friday night WHCR City pub chat. Maybe needs some support from Ian? Kaizan is a wonderful concept!
