Having some time on my hands I thought I'd help BMD out see if there are any players who could fill the holes we have out wide or creative. A lot of shyte out there but without naming anyone who I think could do a job, I noticed 2 of our own and felt a bit sorry for them.

    1) Ben Parker, great kid and great prospect but really struggled to get back to fitness after a nasty injury. Grayson abused him a bit and then we offed him, but when he played he looked like he could be good .... on the scrap heap and still a kid.

    2) David Somma and we all know what happened to him with that injury, but looking at his stats he could probably have been the most prolific striker we've had in a few years, but BMD didn't fancy him, or saw something that told him his knee is gone .... 68 appearances and 28 goals is not bad and better than most. San Jose Earthquakes, Leeds, Lincoln and always remember Chris Sutton stating that he would become the real deal but couldn't afford to buy him from Leeds. He also said he was the nearest thing he's seen to Alan Shearer in years. Would Somma have been worse than Hunt?

Ben Parker never got past his injury problems and has retired (plus he was never really exceptional when he did play. Now commenting on BBC Leeds. Davide Somma also is pretty much done for football numerous injury set backs ect. Even after his initial injury when he came on against Forest he looked a shadow of his former self. At a time when money is scarce i wouldn't waste the phone bill on these two when there's plenty of ex-Premier league free agents about. We need Premier League quality and experience not injury ridden ex players who would be lucky to get a contact at League One clubs imho.

For example David Bentley, Carlton Cole ect

King, I'm not saying we should have them, far from it I'm just bored and feel sorry for them. The big question for me is that we seem to have a problem since we sacked our medical team. We had big problems last season with Becchio and his injury and then months later talking about operation etc, when it should have been sorted at the end of the previous season.

This season we can't seem to sort out young Sams injury problems which started last season and has kept him out all summer and still not back. Again we're still talking about surgeons if it doesn't clear up.

So either we are unlucky with injuries or we're shyte at sorting them out and maybe making them worse? Remember that Somma had a few false dawns and broke down in training ......

Barn Door Billy was injured as soon as he signed and we couldn't get him sorted either at first

A shame that neither of them got past their injury woes, I actually really rated Parker. He was a lot better than White anyway! Still, we have Warnock at LB now and I'm happy with that <ok>

As for Somma, a great finisher but I don't think he had enough to his all round game anyway, even before you factor in his injury problems. Fantastic record though, considering that he was substitute more often than not. If he was fit I would've kept him as an impact sub, but alas...

I was so glad when we got shot of Parker, even when he wasn't injured he never impressed me.... Somma - A fit one I would rather have than Varney or Hunt but he became far too injury prone.
