Iâm not giving up on promotion and I still think we have as much chance of going up as ten other clubs, BUT if we do miss out I hope NB will make some hard decisions in the summer and not be distracted by loyalties to certain players. I hope he will completely over-haul our attack and finally end the failed experiment that is Fryatt and McClean. I know there is no guarantee their replacements will be any better but after two seasons we need to take the chance to hopefully inject some potency (and optimism) into our attack. These two players arenât the only ones who should be held responsible for our goal-famine and NB needs to look at others too, but ultimately the buck stops with them in terms of goals and personally I wouldnât be confident if they were our main strikers next term.
Really do need a bigger guy to help out our forwards whoever we're left with next season. On a pitch like ours at the moment, route one football would have a much better chance of beating sides at the KC. Not decrying our passing game its a joy to watch but oh for an end result worthy of our play. Lets hope for a dry and sunny March & April to help the grass grow and aid our passing style.
The pitch condition is solely down to the rugby, it's got nothing to do with sunlight at all. It's conveniently only started looking like a motorcross course since the rugby started.
I would like to blame it on eggchasing but it always looks to be in a sorry state at the back end of Winter ever since we moved to the KC and the lack of green grass means its almost wholly due to the poor weather.
I'm no fan of the rugby, but the reality is that the pitch was ****ed before a single rugby game had been played at the KC this season.
Most pitches are bad at the minute- you see AC Milan's pitch when they took on Arsenal the other week? They had to relay the wings a day before. People have suddenly become closet Arsene Wengers over every aspect of football these days. He was the first person to whinge about the state of pitches and people used to mock him for it, now it's stuck and it does my head in. People are even starting to criticise players tackling and using their strength and about playing the long ball. They say passing it about is the best way to do it, rather than do anything you can to win, alla Wenger.
