I know what you mean. But.......
We lost to Bath in FA Vase and still won promotion.
We lost to Chesham and still won promotion.
We lost to Barrow and finished 10th.

Not sure cup runs (or lack of one) has any real knock on effect, based on previous seasons under DC.

I do think if DC don't get it right in Jan and we continue to struggle, I doubt he will still be in charge come the end of the season. Unfortunately.

I think the difference this time is that the cup defeats added to a bad run. so it's quite a few games lost on the trot. That knocks confidence.

We had exactly the same concerns about the defence this time last year. The only difference was that we were banging in more goals then.

While I believe that Sercombe was a good signing as soon as Bodin was injured we stopped scoring goals and the M/F seems more intent on scoring than assisting the defence. Chris Lines will never be a defensive M/F he cant tackle if they are going to play a D F M/F then put O Clarke there he can at least tackle and let Lines go forward and either create chances or at least try for goal.
Our experienced players are not performing well and the young lads like Broadbent are not getting any support, Browner is being hung out to dry with nobody in front of him to cover when he attacks, Leadbitter doesn't seem to want to defend or is making a lot of mistakes and Smith our G/K does not inspire confidence.
I appreciate that I am one of the 8000 thousand managers that go to the home games and of course I could pick a team that would win every game like the other 7999 and we would all pick different teams, so all I can ask is that we give of our best at the matches and hope that the team picks up it's lost form

Sinclair's a pretty good defensive midfielder. We need Frankie Prince...

Gastro I agree with your bit about Frankie Prince but I don't think Sinclair would keep in his position he wants to be where the action is and we need someone to stay in his position

This was a text that I sent to Geoff Twentyman last November. Sounds familiar?

35 goals conceded is pretty much the worst record in League 1, and we can't keep scoring 3,4 or 5 goals every game. There is a pattern emerging- we're not defending well as a team. DC needs to get some clean sheets on the board because we can definitely nick a goal or two in most games. I'm not too worried yet, but things need to change soon. Gastronomic

Jonny Burn joining York on loan says he would be open to a move in the Jan window

DC's clearing out the dead wood. Quite surprised that Burn has been a disappointment because he had some good experience.

From what he's said there will be a few comings and goings. He probably has to get some out to bring others in.
