Not for tonight but with our four new signings and Tandari what will Nigels first eleven look like? Who will he pair up front? Will Clyne be an automatic start? What do we all think?
For me, I would say - with what we have right now - probably in a diamond or 4-3-1-2: Davis Clyne Fonte Hooiveld Fox Schneiderlin Cork Davis Lallana Lambert Rodriguez Puncheon or Guly for one midfielder if a normal 4-4-2.
In my opinion Davis Clyne Hooiveld NewCB Fox Schneiderlin Davis Punch Rodriguez Lallana Lambert Schneiderlin and Cork rotating, Punch and Guly rotating
If you wanted to play a 4-5-1/4-3-3 I'd suggest: Davis Clyne Fonte Hooiveld Fox Davis Schneiderlin Cork Rodriguez Lambert Lallana You could also deploy Lee on the left I guess.
No worries you didn't. It's a fair point just wondered who people would start with. I think I'd go J-Rod with Rickie but.........
If I was manager, this is probably how I would line up: K. Davis Clyne Hooiveld Fonte Fox S.Davis Cork Schneiderlin Lallana Lambert Rodriguez
The exciting thing about the squad is symbolised by the fact that we've had 4-5 different formations for our starting 11s
Perhaps I should have been more honest and said I have no real idea. I'll try Davis Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveldt, Fox Rodriguez, Davis, Schneiderlin, Cork, Lallana Lambert
Still think we will play 4-2-3-1 Davis Clyne New CB Hooiveld Fox Schneiderlin Davis/ Cork Lallana Lambert New Winger Rodriguez
Against Man City, I think we'll see something like this: Davis Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox Davis, Cork, Schneiderlin, Lallana Lambert Rodriguez I think Clyne will be given his first start in a home game against not-so-big opposition. I expect Richardson to start games where we're expected to be more defensive. Also Davis can play on the right, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start there instead of a more offensive winger because we'll probably play quite narrow. He could also swap with Cork. Lambert dropping back to help out with the midfield and counter attacks can go through him.
I don't think there will be a first 11 as such due to rotation and playing different tactics against different opposition, however the team I'd start against man city with what we already have would be davis clyne fonte hooiveld fox schneiderlin cork guly lambert lallana Rodriguez
I think the CMs against City will be schneiderlin and davis. Cork will probably miss a couple to get drilled in the new systems.
I'd go with this. But if Chaplow can find his 2011 sharpness again, I'd move Cork or Schneiderlin out.
I think our first 11 will vary depending on who we are playing and where. For instance away to Man City I think we'll play a fairly defensive 4-5-1, in home games against less stellar sides we'll probably play the 442, but with a more defensive aspect to it than last season.
-------------Davis---------------- Clyne---Fonte---Hooiveld---Fox -------Morgan---JWP------------ Puncheon---Lallana---Rodriguez -----------Lambert--------------- We're practising the 4231 now for sound reasons and I believe we need to stick to it.
Threads like this always make me laugh. Puncheon getting in teams because he's looked quite good in a couple of games in pre-season, awkwardly shoehorning players out of position.
