Having been to both Norwich and Citeh this season and last, am I the only one to have noticed that our attendances seemed to be well down on last season's corresponding fixtures?

I guess that Citeh could be explained by the fact that last year's game had so much riding on it, and maybe the later kickoff and TV coverage encouraged some supporters to save their money this year. The atmosphere at the game was disappointingly flat for much of the match too, though this could've been because many of us were expecting a battering given the first 20 minutes of the match!

However, I just hope that we continue to really get nehind the team at away fixtures. For me many of the best atmospheres over the years have been away from home

One small note for those who may have seen the game on MOTD last night - our attendance looked tiny, but TV pictures only showed the lower tier - we had rather more fans in the upper tier

Watched the game on the telly myself, the atmosphere in comparison to HQ seemed woeful. Was it me or did anyone else feel like driving to the ESPN studio to throttle Waddle?

I made 12 games away last year but missed these two so far this year..... not felt the spirit yet / still summer holidays / family stuff as kids still on hols / cash / etc - will no doubt get to away games again but just not feeling it yet - I guess I need to 'gel' with the new team eh.

Last season it was a new ground for lots of people to see, this season it isnt.

Were we allowed more tickets at Man city which made it look like there was a lot of empty space when in fact we could have had more people there?

    This
And remember we had Norwich away last week, then that League cup game then another away game at 5;30 on tv. I would normally have gone but just too much at the moment. Also there were plenty of empty seats in the City end and they are Champions.

Nothing wrong with our away support and in the past it has been fab. Don't worry about some inbred muppet who tried to mock our support because not that long ago they brought 400 to QPR.

Not just Waddle, but every commentator and pundit are in the habit of licking Man. City's metaphorical ringpiece at every opportunity. Opposition teams do not fare well against City; City take their foot off the gas. Opposition teams do not enjoy a spell of possession; City go off the boil. Opposition teams don't put City under pressure; City's defence goes to sleep for a while. Opposition teams don't defend well; City waste a hatful of chances. Opposition teams don't score goals that their play deserves; a City player makes an individual mistake that is out of character.

I agree that our away support has been disappointing so far
I am sure we will sell out our available tickets for Spurs though
When we start winning away from home that will help

Last season we had only half the allocation at Norwich. Last week almost double that.
Yesterdays low turn out might of been cause it was so soon to go back to the Etihad....It put me off...

Easily explained in my eyes. Citeh was on TV, and Norwich wanted to charge near on £50 a ticket.

Just got back from the game, usual suspects all there from what I could see but the 5.30 on the telly didnt help.Muted support for most of the time as we didnt have the ball but thats what supporting your team is all about isnt it ,good or bad. We were there and will continue to do so.

Wasnt a teriffic attendance by any means - but what worrys me is that the club will have had to cough up for those empty seats. We took the full allocation of 2,800.

A club automatically gets 50% (so 1,400) of the allocation for away fans and can sell any unsold seats back to the home club. But once you go over 50% you cannot return any unsold from that second 50%.

The club would have taken the whole allocation based on the interest shown in the game (they asked those interested to register with their e-mails), but this interest was before the game was moved and put on TV. That definately didnt help matters.
