im ashamed and embarrassed to read that "fans" chucked bottles at his family, ****ing pricks, but the boo's towards maynard (which i dont agree with) is the voice of the fans about the way he treated the club, maynard if your reading this sorry, but your to blame for the criticism YOU received but not for what your family got

i think maynard should should been quiet about it and use the air time to thanks his loyal fans and the club for giving him a chance. that might have soften the blow on his return in april.

Absolute garbage,he got stick from well respected fans because he hung our club out to dry.
Did we ever hear of bottles or abuse to his family at away games.
I wound have thought his family would have watched from family/players area designated.not sat in the away end with our fans.

I think Maynard was just trying to appease his return in the future.
Personally glad he has gone, good riddence

Don't believe that is true at all. Yeah he may have scored a lot of goals for us, but I think he has been very over rated from 1 good season from him. His attitude towards the club was disgusting for the past year and a half. Then to come out with something like this just opitomises the bloke in general. Confident enough that put against a top club like West Ham at home in April that we can beat them, if you look at our record against previous teams at the top at home in past seasons- this will just be our own back at him and he will also be a flop in the prem as he has no pace and is not particularly the strongest.

    Toodlepip Maynard.

If true, it's disgusting....and i wouldn't put it past some of our fans to be honest.
IMO he's didn't deserve it, neither did LJ, with the abuse he got..

Most of our fans are great, but some, I wish supported some other club..
I imagine, these type of fans are in every club.

Good luck to Nicky......IMO was a good player for us......and I'm sure there was so much more he would have given, if only he had the right service..

I don't know the truth of it but I do remember what happened to Brian Tinnion AND HIS FAMILY so, judging by the vitriol on this board (and others) from some, I can well believe it....

Silly question but how would anyone pick the May nard family out of a line up, much less a football crowd? Doesn't sound quite right.
Regardless, it's clear he wasn't going to sign for us, abuse or no. Certainly no excuse for it though I think it's safe to say that it earned the club 2 million pounds. Cynical perhaps but true.

Whichever way you look at this scenario it doesn't reflect well on BCFC. I find it difficult to believe that any of our away fans could get away with this sort of behaviour and not be arrested. If it did happen then the behaviour is reprehensible in the extreme, and surely people at the game would know who were the perpertrators and should report them asap.

On the other side of the coin, if Nicky is using condemnation of City supporters to alleviate the clear antagonism created by his decision to leave BCFC.

Neither situation is acceptable and the sad thing is that the game of football nowadays seems to be based more on hatred and phobias rather than the actual game itself.

Someone knows the real truth on this matter and need to come forward to put the record straight, once and for all. Do us all a favour and get this terrible aspect of our beloved sport out of our culture for ever.

Spot on cjs! This should apply to all teams, and not just BCFC, because it has become rife amonst the entire league.
