    Done.

I passed through Queen's Gardens at weekend for the first time in ages and saw the 'memorial' in front of Huckleberry's Cafe, or whatever it is, and thought it was a pretty poor show for someone so pivotal that came from Hull.

It's a raised bit of brickwork with an old sign on it...and nowt else.

    Aye, it's a shambles really.

It needs a statue of the great man imo.

It's not so much a memorial, as a pile of bricks with his name on the front...

Ronno is one of the reasons I started learning guitar and one of reasons I feel hopeless most of the time :emoticon-0100-smile I can play the Ziggy Stardust riff though<laugh>

He also doesn't get enough credit his post Bowie stuff. Some great music with Ian Hunter. He's the lead guitarist on Bob Dylans live album Hard Rain too.

The thing that annoys me is we have a statue of poet from Coventry who slagged off Hull, but can't properly honour iconic rock stars from our own City.

Ronson and Marr are easily my fave guitarists.

I'll be honest that Marr was the main reason I started learning guitar, but Ronson was a massive influence too.

(Don't think he particularly slagged Hull off, he was just a miserable misogynistic, racist bugger who didn't like lots of things but happened to write some bloody good poetry.)

And yes i think Mick should have a memorial!

Signed, that memorial is piss poor for such a talented and iconic musician.

I think a new memorial should also have something for Trevor Bolder too.

My mother used to work at Co-op with Mick and she said that whenever there was a break he'd sit down and fall asleep.

    Done.

That memorial looks like it was erected by Remploys finest.
