It's not about the death of a Lion. ****, millions of living things die everyday. It's the circumstances in which something had to die at the hands of some cowardly bitch 300 meters away so she could get a pretty picture.
There was uproar about this on twitter last night too. A guy in South Africa is arranging these 'hunts' for anyone willing to pay. Various celebrities were condemming it, including John Bishop, Freddie Flintoff, the aforementioned Ricky Gervais. Having looked at the guys profile (@juliousheneke) he appears to be a first class tool. There's pictures of him having hunted all african creatures including lions, hippos, bison, gazelles etc, always with a 'proud' picture. Fair enough if someone is hunting for food like the african tribesmen do, but for some sick fun to get a pretty picture? That's not right IMO.
People who shoot noble beasts like Lions for some form of 'sport', aren't worthy of oxygen. Loose the guns & let the 'sport' at least be even between man & beast......
ehhhh..... whats the beef? she "shot" a lion. well... i kind of doubt it. she wnet on a tour guided by people and took a pic beside an animal one of them might well have actually shot. in other words, these hunts go on all the time but she, as admittedly one of the types that create the demand, gets the hate. for all you lot know she was guided to cull a male lion as they have plenty of those and killing one is no harm... just like killing badgers I really don't care. you'd swear she was working down an endangered speicies list...
If you don't care about this kind of 'sport', it's not a huge leap to stop caring about ....... well to just stop caring - which is sad!
She'll have been taking part in a 'trophy hunt' In which western ****ers pay a day rate to be accompanied by a trained hunter & then additional costs for any 'trophies' that they manage to down. The price on a lions head is $22,000 & an Elephant can be shot for $35,000. It's a total disgrace, that this happens on a legalised basis in SA.
i come from farming stock. while we don't allow hunts on our land and don't allow badger baiting either.... well.... its like have you ever seen a lion tearing stuff apart... or a cow getting slaughtered? i'd not call it a sport either but going off and tearing into her for being what she is is a bit much for me. as for tobes... I have my hatchet.... I'm good. that will be sport, liek RG says tobes can bring his and we'll see who wins. Its' like i said and tobes you are right she paid trained hunters who prob shot the thing for her. I don't care. my point is blame those taking the money to let her get that picture cos its thier natural resource they ought to be protecting. 35k for an elephant... fine stupid is as stupid does... the only question i have is are these guys charge willy nilly for people to kill indiscriminately or are these guys charing silly money for people to kill animals that they have to cull to preserve national parks etc. I don't know... do you. In short, i really don't care about her. I sincerely doubt she'll take anything from it other than people are assholes for ruining here social media.
