They were never the best available. When the original iPhone came out, it was old technology just as it is now. People weren't aware as much of the alternatives as they are now though. I had HTC touchscreens phones for a number of years before the iPhone.
Apples AppStore was infinitely better than anything else anyone had to offer, up until around iPhone 3 or 4 now pretty much everything is available on all handsets.
That just shows me what is wrong with bigger and bigger smart phones. I bought a huge screen phone so i could see who was calling without having to put my glasses on. All i get is the same size text just more of it in a bigger screen. And yes i have it set on extra large font. Smart phones by stupid designers.
Yeah, the appstore and to be fair the user interface at the time. The hardware wasn't cutting edge though. Now it fails against cheaper opposition in most areas. Very good optimisation of non-optimal hardware though. Amazing marketing to the gullible also.
The whole Apple iPhone thing is style over substance, when they first came out there was very little competition for them, Android was in it's infancy as was the Playstore. From the Galaxy S3 things changed with the iPhone falling behind on specs & performance & now we have the S5 the latest iPhones are a couple of development generations behind. My other problem with iPhones is the lack of memory expandability & the fact you have to use iTunes to synch them. With Android the customisations are endless (even more if the device is rooted) & you are not limited to one phone manufacturer with great phones by Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG etc
They really are the kings of marketing, I think I'm the only person in the world who uses a non-apple branded MP3 player rather than an iPod. Also, they seem to have the media convinced. Last week they were saying how those nude leaks mean that the safety of using the cloud has come into question. Not apples particular cloud service but the entire cloud, I'm sure if it was anyone else they'd have been dragged through the dirt. There was a big fuss a year or two ago about Google updating their privacy policy, yet when apple lose all your stored data its the entire cloud's fault!
Conspiracy theory, Apple is run by the NSA. The sales of Apple products funds the organisation, and it users freely give all their personal information to "the cloud" Joking aside, i am amazed how little people care about the security of their personal info.
People are making a big deal of Apple Pay, Google Wallet is the same thing and has been available for 3 and half years.
I find the hatred of all things Apple hilarious, if you have Apple stuff like me, I and other users don't feel the need to spew abuse about the latest Galaxy or Samsung, I just think that looks good I will stick with my iphone because I'm used to them. I used to have a BMW and people used to slag them off as well, why? Is it because they can't afford Apple stuff so are insanely jealous, it's like they have an ugly girlfriend and long for something rather prettier. Who cares if Samsung or Galaxy are better, only their owners it seems, I remember when look alike Levi Sta Press came out, they looked the same were much cheaper, did I buy them, no chance, the label is everything and the Apple label is much more desirable than all the others, that's why it's the biggest company in the World. Get over it cheapskates
the s5 is the same price as an iphone, but you can change the battery, change the sd cards, much better customization, widgets, doesn't need ****ty itunes to upload things better apps apple computers are overpriced ****e with worst specs for double the price of a windows alternative, the programs on apple OS are **** and ****s like you just buy them because of the 'label' what a ****ing bellend

Personally I don't care what brands people use. What I find strange people proclaim Apple as innovations when they haven't been for years. Iphone users say Android phones are to big? But they're not saying that now are they? They say the build quality isn't as good? Well go pick up a S5 or HTC and you can isn't much different. Spec wise Android blows Iphones out the water both in terms of screen quality and CPU. It makes some people feel good if they have nice shiny Apple logo on there gadget. I just don't get why they won't admit it
I'm a big fan of Apple. But for the right reasons. Apple create excellent product. ANyone that denies this has never tried their range. It's as simple as that. They are expensive but they are worth the expense (most of them). I'm typing from my 5 year old macbook which is as fast as it always was. In the mean time my parents have replaced their pc with a laptop and my sister has had to windows laptops. Due to breaks or just outdated and slow. The big problem with Apple is that they once were the underdog who produced great products.... they still do but now they are this big company that some people don't want to associate with. If you had one of these, you were cool back then. Now it's trendy to go against the grain and not be a sheep and go with Android. please log in to view this image They're becoming a victim of their own success really. I've tried all sorts of devices from many brands and i disagree with every argument against Apple. The price is probably the only issue. Otherwise their products are fantastic. They really think things through. I've converted a few family members who were so skeptical and now are completely happy. There's just something special about what they build. It's not just pretty, it's incredibly well thought out and feels natural. I've had so much **** with PC's and HTC phones and so on. They feel fast and pretty at first and then suddenly the software goes tits up, slows down, viruses show up and so on... they've come a long way though and are competing relatively well but I just think there's something so well thought out with Apple devices. I feel like you give a Macbook or Iphone to a 90 year old grandma and she'd get to grips with it far quicker than any Android device or PC. I'm trying to be as objective as possible here. I didn't used to like waiting for new iphones so I kept jumping to other brands and ALWAYS went back to Apple. No other brand, however many pixels they give your camera, however fast the device is or big the screen is, can seem to recreate the feel and look of an Iphone or Macbook. Only slight thing that also annoys me with Apple is the lack of real progress but I feel they make sure they get every detail right before going too far. Whereas other brands try and compete so much with Apple that they end up producing flawed devices.
