We're in Cley, on the Holt road so away from the immediate flood zone. Blakeney is a mess the Kings Arms is flooded, Blakeney Hotel has been evacuated and the flood defence bank had water pouring over the top of it looked like a waterfall the poor duck pond is gone.

Wells looked bad but looks like the defences have held, thankfully they improved the flood defences there recently, if not for that glass wall on top of the defences Wells would have been trashed.

Glad I haven't bought the tickets for the Cromer extravaganza yet!

Tomorrow morning is going to be interesting too

Someone just said on Radio Norfolk that the seafront toilets in Yarmouth have flooded. That'll be the cleanest they've been in years then

Oh surprise Cameron got his quip in quick bet he wishes people would feel like that when he dies LOL.

Aaaaanyway carefully dodging turning this into a political scrap. I know how important he is but lets be honest he survived being imprisoned for 27 years then saw his dream come true his vision for south africa and became President then died at home surrounded by family if you've got to go its a pretty good way to go isn't it? Anyway he was obviously important but he's dead can we concentrate on the living on the news, I see the horrific stuff happening in Norfolk has now been bumped off the headlines.

Hope you're ok Yarco, thinking of you lot in Yarmouth now its passed here. Be interesting to see what happens tomorrow now the defences are battered with no time to repair them...

    It certainly does.

I've got some relatives in Kessingland who are going through the same thing. I've got no chance now of fi ding out on the news how bad the situation really is!

Spot on mate bloody Mandela dying, great. **** everyone suffering in this country.

If you want to keep tabs Radio Norfolk has a floods special programme on which you can listen to on their website. Latest they said was they reckoned Lowestoft would be cut off soon

Our lecky has been off/on all day but not for long at a time luckily. Gathered up torches etc just in case needed them a few times before kids went to bed earlier. Apparently lecky was off for 5 hours in High Kelling

Cheers mate I will stay glued to the radio over the next few hours! My brother who lives in Kessingland has been filling sand bags for the last few hours!

Just batten down the hatches boys and I wish you all well and hope that you keep dry and stay safe! <ok>

Gutted to hear this news my Dad grew up in Yarmouth and I have family living in Lowerstoft. Saw something on the One Show earlier, not only did I find it cringeworthy I found it patronising and annoying, it was some pathetic flood watch thing with some guy annoying people trying to build defences next thing I was expecting Geoff Capes to come out and carry concrete flood barriers on his back...

Not wishing to make a political point but I thought that the BBC was meant to be a public service broadcaster?

Exactly, they are but no one gives a **** about the the people in this country least of all the people in charge of it.

We need a British Mandela to end the financial/class apartheid in this country

There are thousands of people up and down the coast who are scared witless at this moment in time and not one mention has been made on the main news! Yes Mandela dying is a major event but surely they could have moved this to the BBC News channel so that viewers could be kept in formed of the potential disaster taking place in this country! Sometimes I do really despair!

Yeah too bloody right, I am utterly utterly disgusted, he's DEAD he's not going anywhere (well except into a coffin and a hole in the ground). He saw his dream come to fruition and he died at home surrounded by family - how ****ing tragic - NOT!!!

What's worse is local news was supposed to be on at 10:30 and that got canned too

Complaint going in to Beeb tomorrow
