I'm watching a decent stream on that: http://cricfree.tv/live/live_sports_streaming/england_vs_australia_test__/8716
It's incredible. Was genuinely disappointed agar couldn't get two more runs (but no more than that). Wouldn't be surprised to see the frenetic pace drop over the next few sessions. We need to bat long enough for the dry pitch to develop and bring swan in for day 4 and 5. Just hope it gets that far
i felt for him too to be honest. when you get that close it would have been nice for him but every single run counts - those two runs could be the difference at the end of the match, which at this rate will probably be about tea time tomorrow
Maybe not those two, but the 90 after he should have been stumped could have dictate a lot in this match.
Apparently England have complained to the match referee about Trott's dismissal. Saying he couldn't overturn the on field decision without all the evidence. Doubt they can do much that isn't issue an apology though.
Well it was quite frustrating getting slogged all over the place by some kid who is 11th in the batting order! He took his shots well though but he wasn't half helped by some terrible bowling. I do think it's a deliberate ploy by the Aussies though, as nobody within in the international cricket scene knew much about Agar I have the feeling he is more of an all rounder then just a spin bowler.
Finn's bowling wasn't good enough at times and Jimmy and Swann lost their intensity after the stumping wasn't given. Shame Broad couldn't have bowled more. Would like a very dull day tomorrow with slow patient run making.
Thing with Agar now, even if he takes 0 - 140 in our second innings, his place in the Ashes hall of fame is (rightly, imho ) assured. Everyone at Trent Bridge today will be very pleased that they were there - even if a rookie kinds 'took the game away' from England. History was made and it was riveting viewing.
I totally agree with you there about a slow patient run making day. In our first innings I thought our upper order were to over eager to get some runs on the board, we need to just calm it down it's not one day cricket. I'm also a bit baffled why we didn't pick Compton instead of Root, but then again the latter plays for the Democratic Republic of Yorkshire so that probably the reason why.
After growing up watching Australia humiliate my home country at Cricket I have grown to despise them at most sports. I must admit though Agar seems well mannered and level headed not a patch on the likes of Pointing, Hughes, Lee and Johnson etc. I find it difficult to compliment them but that lad done well.
Interesting days play tomorrow, looking forward to watching as I haven't been able to watch either of the last 2 days, hopefully cook and pietersen play themselves in sensibly again tomorrow and we could be set up for a decent days batting from england. Looking forward to hopefully Bairstow getting a decent knock as long as he doesn't miss a straight one.
