That's a good shout sb_73. I always had Beckham down as a good roll model and ambassador for the game.
There is a lot to admire in Beckham. To have remained a committed professional footballer for so long whilst juggling his other interests so successfully, and giving himself to worthy causes, has been impressive. And let's not forget his Oscar-nominated cameo in Only Fools...
Top man, top player, top attitude. Always been a big fan and we should be proud to have such a respected figure associated with the game in this country. With Brooking stepping down after the World Cup, the FA would be stupid not to try and get him involved asap. As Stan says, he's far from thick but does struggle to articulate what he wants to say at times. I thought it was brilliant the other week when, despite his millions, he made Brooklyn get a job in a coffee shop to try and learn he value of money, says a lot about both Posh and Becks. He'd be an ideal choice as a role model for young players coming through if he can pass on that sort of attitude.
