MIDDLE LANE IS NOT FOR GENERAL DRIVING ****WITS! IT IS FOR OVERTAKING WHATEVER IS IN THE LEFT LANE - YOU THEN MOVE BACK TO THE LEFT LANE AFTERWARDS Needless to say this does my head in. You get some idiot doing 55 in the middle lane of a three lane motorway and have to go around the outside of them then pull back into the left lane in front of them!!
I havent been drin in MAnchester city itself, but recently on my way to the airport there was a marked difference in the road users compared to the NE. But worse by far was as you pass Leeds on the motorway. BMWs (yes plural) diving across mutliple lanes of motorway to make their turn offs. So signal, speeding etc.
Live in Perth West Australia and while I'm not putting myself up as world's best driver, they are absolutely shocking over here, can't do roundabouts, serial cutter-inners and tailgaters, amber light means speed up not slow down, averages 2 cars a week crashing into houses. God knows what it would be ever like if it got icy. See people jumping red lights every day, driving down hard shoulder, not just the odd one either.
Manchester' drivers are the worst I've seen in the UK to be fair, especially the Asian lot and te Jewish lot. They have no spatial awareness. I hate these roads. I don't think any particular car type stands out here apart from the hackney carriage.
I do indicate mate, if people wanna be knobheads that's up to them, but the fact that people always refer to certain brands of vehicle is bullshit. I guarantee there is no possible way that anyone can honestly say BMW driver are worse than anyone else, a ****ing Nissan doesn't stick in your mind, that's the truth of the matter. It's odd behaviour like 'I'm not letting them out cos they have a nicer car than me' WTF? It does happen, and Terry will back me up on this.
My mate was recently provided with a BMW from his work as a company car as they have a contract with BMW. His first comment was "I can;t find out where in the book that comes with it teaches you how to drive like a twat"... Rather appropriate for this thread I thought!!
I tend to drive old cars/vans for work and generally get more accommodating and considerate motorist than if I drive a newer family car - its bizarre
It's a perception ain't it, preceptions stem from peoples negativity and snowball. It's utter ****e, and the way I see it, it ain't those in the BMW's that have the problem. Wouldn't care, a Mondeo costs as much as a 3 series nowadays anyway, they are far from elitist. Aye, jealousy, envy whatever you wanna call it. It's there in everyone. I have to say, I'm more likely to give someone a thumbs up in traffic if they are driving a nice motor personally, I like to see people doing well for themselves.
When I am driving in Washington compared to Manchester it must be the equivalent of driving in the sixties. There is nowt on the road, hardly ever get stuck in traffic. Down here it takes me an age to get to my local supermarket cos of traffic. Quicker to walk.
Just kidding. I can't see why there would be any correlation whatsoever bewteen drivers ability and type of car. Despite that though, there is a perceived noticalble lack of indication, speeding along motorways and cutting across lanes.
As far as being a BMW driver, I couldn't give a **** what people thought of me. I can be the biggest **** on the road if somebody gets up my arse, I'll not hesitate to jump on my brakes and let them plough into me. One last week, a Passat trying to think his 14 plate is better than my car cos it's newer. My brakes are far superior to his and I let him know, he managed to swerve and avoid me but ended up in the next lane facing oncoming traffic. I got out the car an his ****ing dirty 'tache was shivering all over his face. I can't say any particular car type causes me any issues but there is a theme with the ****s behind the wheel, foreign. In Manchester you have to accept traffic in almost every area, it's the school traffic that jams this city up, summer was bliss when they were all off. Personally the worst thing I encounter every day is the pan-faced Chinese students that think they're in Beijing, walking into the street without looking, it won't be long before I'm peeling one off my Bridgestones.
Commuted through Newcastle for 7 years by motorcycle. The safer a driver feels then generally the greater the tendency to drive badly. As a motorcyclist you are at much more risk so generally better than most car drivers and when driving a car, more considerate to other road users. I've had several potentially fatal narrow escapes from the "didn't see you brigade" and over time learnt to spot danger signals like these:- Young girls driving minis Asian women driving luxury saloons Any women driving to/from school for kids Does this seem sexist?
Young girls in Mini's man, that used to mean slags in short skirts but now it means potential damage to any car within 500 yards of her! It's like the Mini is not complete without some dumb **** orange slag sat in the drivers seat.
You guys don't know how well you have it. In the SF Bay Area, approximately30% of the population is Asian, including my wife. They can't drive and they don't know the rules of the road. They are a menace. When one of them almost kills you (a daily occurrence), we typically remark "DWA". It's a take on DWI, which is the abbreviated legal way of saying "driving while intoxicated". DWA means driving while Asian.
It may help other road users if they fitted indicators as standard to BMW's With the T5 never had the problem of being allowed out, since having the Jaguar people seem to make a point of blocking me in.
Aye, same thing, for all that anyone who knows motors knows a t5 is a beast of a machine, it doesn't carry that image with it. Like I've said, it's crystal clear what peoples issue is, and it ain't the driver!
