May miss QPR as well.......... JOHN OâShea is a doubt for Sunderlandâs game against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday after straining a hamstring. The former Manchester United man has been in inspired form in recent weeks and his loss was heavily felt last night after the niggle forced him out at Blackburn. And although the club are convinced the injury is not too serious, they will have to wait to see how the big defender is over the next few days before being able to make a final decision for the weekend. Martin OâNeill revealed: âJohn tweaked his hamstring a little bit and weâre hoping itâs not too bad. âWe didnât want to risk him though and weâll just see how that goes.â The manager made a couple of changes for last nightâs game â Sotirios Kyrgiakos for OâShea was one; David Vaughan for Jack Colback was the other. OâNeill said: âWe made a couple of changes and I suppose, in hindsight, we could have made a couple more in terms of who started the game. âBut weâve got to be realistic about the size of the squad. âWith John OâShea being injured, we only really had 18 players, so I didnât have much scope to manoeuvre in terms of changes I could make. âI was also tempted not to change too much simply because players like to play, they want to play if theyâre in the side, so itâs tough to drop them.
Hopefully OK for the Everton game but please put Kilgannon in. Turner & the greek together far too slow.
This, rest O'Shea for the Everton game. Bardo/Kilgallon/Kryiakgos/Bridge That would be my defence, need a bit of pace to stop Cisse and if we play Turner and the Greek he will have a field day.
thought he was a canny player but I didn't realise he was a magistrate as well! Seriously though he was playing well and that injury came at an unfortunate time for him
