    By and large they have been very reliable and what they lack in pace is compensated for by positional sense. They've had poor games at times but hasn't others? Over the season where they got caught out the most was when we lost possession in an overcrowded midfield and the counter attack pace would have troubled any defender.

    Played in both full back positions for lengthy periods, centre half fro almost a season, temporary midfielder, emergency goalkeeper making reasonable saves. he was carried alright.

    Jack of all trades... Master of none. His willingness to cover any position under the sun was his biggest asset. Where his ability was lacking his attitude was not.

    An asset which is no longer in use.

    O Shea can still cut it at international level and despite lack of pace had Sterling in his pocket in recent friendly. He is what he is but gets more stick than he deserves
