have to admit to not being one of One Sizes fans, because I feel as a tall centre half, he doesn't win as much as he should do in the air, or use his size and strength to hold off opposing strikers. yet, yesterday, he played. and we didn't concede. admittedly, Anelka's header which IF had been directed at any other part of the goal would have gone in was probably one of only two Chelsea chances that Paddy saved. My question is: Aim I or have I been too hard on one size, or were the chelsea strikers off form? (Glad Sturridge was taken off as I reckon he would have caused problems)
To be honest he had a fair game but i thought Ferdinand had a good game yesterday. He looked better as the game was played in front of him. He struggles when he has a one on one or the ball is played over the top. Have to say keeping four clean sheets is immense and is the sort of form that will keep us up. Thought Luke young had another good game yesterday and has been our most consistent defender.
One Size may be one size but he has several playing levels and that is the nub of the problem. Yesterday was fine so well done to the lad for that.
Ferdinand had a great game. As for One Size I still don't think he is better than Gorky and have to wonder why we let him go.
We would all be calling for his head today if that Anelka effort had gone in. As it is his name will be on to the team sheet that will go down in QPR history and good for him I say. The fact is he is seriously limited at PL level but has enough experience to make up for some of the shortfall in talent. I'm pretty sure that NW only intended to use that experience to provide cover this season but we all know all too well about our injury crisis across the back. It's ironic that the normally injury prone Hall has been a regular because of these problems.
I thought Fatty Frank was due a pen after Fitz's shirt tugging. Dress it up how you like, I think he's an injury prone liability and Gorkss was better. Warnock however really seems to like him but I hope we get Bassong in Jan and with Gabbidon & Traore back I'm hoping his appearances are limited
it seems to be a different hall each week that turns up. One week he'll have a good game, the next he looks like he shouldnt even be playing league football. I always thought he was at best our 4th choice cb but he keeps on getting games. Hopefully in january we'll sign another cb and then One Size can finally be left out the team
