There's a thread on our board about Steve Bruce, and you mention comments Nigel Pearson made on Football Focus about his departure from Hull City. Can't find it anywhere - have you got a link or can you summarise what NP said? Ta
He just said he enjoyed his time with us and he was disappointed that his departure was acrimonious. It was on Football Focus, it's probably online to watch again. It was one of his better interviews.
Basically what OLM said He was surprised the opportunity to come back here arose. He is glad to be back here but he enjoyed his time at Hull and wises he left on better terms
Well why didn't he? He didn't even say goodbye to the players and the Stewards at our Training Ground had to go all the way to Leicester to pick his company car up for him!
Charles even you know the board at Hull made things very difficult for Nigel to come back. Who knows maybe the Allams told Pearson to stay away from the training ground and the stadium once he had declared he wanted to leave. The Allams are happy to case Nigel as the bad guy and we all know Nigel isnt one to come out and discuss things like this
I doubt they would have said that, though. They would have let him say goodbye to the players, and they certainly would have wanted their car back.
Odd that Football Focus doesn't make it to the iplayer Probably all the painkillers he was on for his knee
Why would they let him? Just to make the players even more unsettled and it would of increased the chances of them wanting to follow him here
"you doubt" ...exactly...... you or we don't know what happened , can't say I'm particular bothered to be honest, but we all know how professional Pearson is in the way he handles himself "usually"
Our training ground is little more than a field with a building that looks like an abandoned Little Chef. There's no-one there but the players and the management, nobody would know or care if Pearson went there or not before he left. Both Shakespeare and Walsh went to see the players, I'm sure Nigel could have if he'd wished to do so.
Let's face it, Nige was eager to get out of Hull at the VERY first opportunity. Five minutes after the deal was done, he was roaring down the motorway. You can't blame him really.
Well Yorkshire is a big place so it's bound to have it's better spots, but even Barnsley would be an improvement on Hull.
