Blackburn midfielder set to join Sevilla
Posted By Inside Spanish Football On July 26th, 2012 12:28 PM | News, Primera Liga

Blackburn midfielder Steven Nzonzi is set to join Sevilla on a season-long loan, according to Lancashire Telegraph.

Nzonzi has made his feelings clear about a departure from Blackburn after the Lancashire side were relegated from the English Premier League last season.

The French midfielder has been frozen out of Rovers’ pre-season preparations to date and, with no club willing to pay the club’s valuation of £10m, a loan deal is now the best possible option.

Sevilla will pay the majority of his wages but Blackburn have included a recall clause, meaning they could recall the midfielder in January if he is needed.

The 23-year-old Rovers for a nominal fee from French second division outfit Amiens in 2009 on a four-year deal.

While no doubt he is an improvement on what we have and would add height and a bit of pace to our CM, think we are well covered for now and strengthening that position is not a priority.
