Full article here Absolutely loved this guy under Sir Bobby, fast, exciting and technically class. This article is a good read, gives a insight into Bobby, and Souness' *spit* management of the club. Gutted for him. His career ended too soon for such a promising player. I didn't realise he has a Geordie wife and still lives in the city though! Anyone seen him out and about? Though, with his hip he probably doesn't get out too much. EDIT: Graeme Souness is a ****er.
Thought Bernard was great in his first game and was sure he'd become a crowd favourite. Babayaro on the other hand wasn't worth a German tank! God how I hated Graeme Souness!
I think his contribution tends to be forgotten about by a lot of folk who forget that he managed to be a fairly attacking fullback behind a winger who absolutely would and/or could not cover him when he went forward. Olly did all of Roberts legwork for years and what thanks did he get? He'd have killed to have Spiderman in front of him...
He owns a milkshake shop on Grainger Street. I cant ****ing find the link though. I may have posted it on here/old 606 one time. Love this goal
I thought he owned a cafe, but you're probably right. Knew he was still round these parts though. Reading this reminded me how much I miss the football under Bobby.
Met him in tesco (in kingston park) a few years ago with his wife and he was dead canny. Got his autograph and wished him the best, seemed friendly enough.
He single handedly destroyed everything Sir Bobby did in a season, why couldn't of he of been more like Pardew is today? And by that i mean coming in and just tweaking certain things instead of trying to create some kind of dictatorship and day he came.
