1/6 on for Villa.Suggestions that betting has been suspended on him. Did Lambert turn it down?

One newspaper said that he had, will be interesting to see if that's true. This James nursery (mirror journelist) has made himself look like a right tool. His top tweet for ages was lambert expected to move to villa as hes there number 1 target and is very much interested in the role. Yesterday he then said that the move might not be on the cards but villa along with wba and a German club all still interested.

If he's not interested in Villa, can anybody really see him being interested in WBA?

No disrespect to them, but it would be (at best) a sideways move.

I would say its like moving to a new house on the same street with the same amount of bedrooms, but the bathroom is slightly better.

Going to Ipswich would be like moving from a 6 bedroom detached house with swimming pool to a studio flat, although 40 years ago it would of been a penthouse flat.;)

A studio flat you say? Yes we have a few of those in Lowestoft, although the residents generallly refer to them as "Crackhouses".Quite apt in view of the situation forty miles down the road.

More like moving to a trailer park carra at the moment

WBA similar sized club but with a more sound financial position - well run club

Moving from Norwich to Ipswich is like moving from the Disney Castle in Orlando to Woody Bears castle in pleasurewood hills...

Moving from Norwich to Ipswich was summed up for me about 30 years ago. When you enter Norwich, the signs said and still say welcome to Norwich a fine city. The ones outside Ipswich said Tesco open 24 hours. Not sure if this is still the case or whether Tesco have since pulled out.

I think you underestimate the attractions of WBA. It is an excellently run club in a comfortable financial position. After a few years of yo-yo-ing between Premier League and Championship, they have steadily improved under good management, latterly Di Matteo and Hodgson, to be a well-established Premier League outfit. They are looking for a manager only because of Hodgson's England appointment, so whoever takes over has no massive overhauling or firefighting to do. A Cup and/or Europa League spot are realistic ambitions with a little bit of further strengthening. In short, it is likely to seem an extremely attractive proposition to someone not yet ready to manage a top four club.

james nursey is a self-indulgent so and so. ok, he wrote article after article about how lambert going to villa would be a good thing, he's entitled to do that as its his job but he has slagged off any norwich fan who questions his rather vague yet apparently conclusive contacts. not only has he made himself look a right tit over this he's supposedly a bloody norwich fan to boot! what a great supporter of the club he is <doh>

Must be trying to establish his credentials as an unbiased reporter! Needs to establish his credentials as a reporter first I'd say, but if he is connected to the Mirror, maybe that's not necessary. He's definitely from Norwich but, as we all have plenty of evidence for, that's not incompatible with being a twit. <laugh>

Only 15 managers in 120 years or so. Seems to be a reasonable amount of stability at that club. despite their yo yo performances.
Considering the amount of managers we have had in recent years, stability is not one of our mottos, even if that may now becoming more of a reality.

WBA would be a good club to be at however I wouldn't say its enough of a step up to warrant leaving at having to establish at a new club. I think lambo still has a trick or two up his sleeve and he knows "Project Norwich" isn't finished yet.

Albion are a well run club looking up not down - not sure you can say the same for Villa or even Liverpool at this stage. Saying that I'm not sure Lambert would see it as an upward move right now although Albion would be a better option imo.

Brendan rodgers has shown how it's done, he's turned down the chance to talk to liverpool. I wish we would see the same from Lambert for any type of job offer! Obviously thats if he's even been approached.

Can't see WBA being a threat - why leave a medium sized club for a very similar albeit well-run one where he will not have "his" players around him and will have no inbuilt loyalty from either their board or fans. I am sure PL would do a job but to what end? More to do at Project Norwich and try to capitalise on this season's success by developing the squad so that we can continue to compete with the best and look up the table rather than down.

People seems to be missing 1 point completley.

West Brom = Brum and Black Country.

Where would you rather live? West Brom or Norwich?

Lamberts has been here for 3 years now and was at Colchester before that, would he really want to move up to Brum?

I have worked all over and spent lots of time in and around Birmingham sometimes in 3-4 week blocks. I even had a chance to relocate there 3 years ago on much better Money but not once did I consider it an option. When you live somewhere for 3 years you get settled in an area/region it would be hard to leave it for pretty much a sideways move.

I don't see how Villa or West Brom at this present time offers anything that Lambert would leave for? Forget history and all that, at this moment in time why would he? Much has changed in football over the last decade, there is no loyalty to the manager from the club's anymore no time is given you only have to look at what has happened to Dalglish it's ridiculous and I pity anyone who takes that job on as you don't get time to have a good crack at it anymore. One season and your out.
