I see Holloway has tempted Fowler out of retirement. A frontline of Fowler, Phillips and occasionally Ormerod. Can any-one think of an older strike force? Perhaps we should get MLT back!
Yeah, I heard about this yesterday. Funny thing is, if you don't want to spend money, and obviously Blackpool don't, as they're saving theirs for a big expansion in infrastructure, it actually makes sense. Brett Ormerod still works as hard as he always did, and makes a real contribution, and Kevin Phillips is actually playing out of his skin, and scoring for fun. Plus, He and Brett know each other's game from their Saints partnership. I think Robbie Fowler might be a step too far, but he probably hasn't lost his goal scoring instincts. It's getting him fit enough, is the problem.
I thought Fowler was a player/coach in Thailand ?? Obviously, he had a change of heart. He's clearly playing for love of the game which is great, as there is no way he needs the money with his personal wealth.

All absolute classic TV. Remember "The Testing of Eric Olthwaite"? "His mother made pudding so black, even the white bits were black".
All of Blackpool's striker ages: Phillips - 38 Fowler - 36 Ormerod - 35 Lua-Lua - 31 Taylor-Fletcher - 30 Bednar - 29
Is Fowler ever likely to play for Blackpool. Good player about 10 years ago,but was never the same after he left Liverpool.
Obviously he will not be expecting to play, although looking at the age of that lot perhaps they are planning rotating the squad every 45 minutes.
