What the **** do you mean, No not Messi! I will delete this if you ever say that again!

Reports in the chronicle that we will be after Carlton Cole, that would make me feel sick.

We have money, and believe a big chunk of that, £15m maybe, should go on a top class replacement, whether in this country or elsewhere. After that, 20m should be split up into 3, to buy 3 good players that will help us improve.

God knows who, I just can't think.

I'd chance my arm with a 15 mil bid for benzema
I would also bid 10m for agbonglahor as he is rapid
Finally 10 mil split it in half and go barnetta and Davide santone
that means 2 stikers a quality winger and a right back for 35 mil

    Here we go:

    Stephen Warnock
    PVA, if possible
Ireland, permenant if loan goes well
    Agbonlahor
Crouch, if Spurs get a new striker
Benzema, if Ben Arfa slips him some grass on the down low.

Isn't Benzema one of the best strikers in Europe? I know he's not really adored at Real but I think he'd have better places to go than us.

I would spend alot of it on a quality striker since its where we are weakest. Not sure who though.

Add a few million if we offload Xisco and/or Smith.

A striker - Bendtner for 10-15m (overpriced but that's the market, good player if he gets a run of games)
A winger - Barnetta for 5-7m (will only have 12 months left on his contract by then and sounds perfect)
A versatile attacker - Kranjcar 4-6m (bargain and helps provide the sort of depth we need to push for Europe)
DM cover for Tiote - cant think of anyone atm 1-2m, sell smith if needed for funds
Ireland if he plays well - 5-7m
A cover defender capable of playing anywhere across the back - 3-5m (unless we think Kadar is ready to replace Campbell)

That comes to 40 mil if we spend the max I have suggested but we might be boosted by sales of players like Xisco and a 5 mil net loss over two windows isnt bad for bringing all those players in.

    Does anyone still rate Xisco?

Say if he bangs in.. something like 10 in 13.. I'll have him back in a snap shot!

    We can only hope..

We need to invest in a good young player. Someone like Crouch would be a waste of money. He's 30 and he's not that good, apart from when he plays for England.

We need someone with a GOOD scoring record. A proven scoring record. Someone who has an appearance to goal ratio of anywhere around 2/1 at top flight level. A striker who's going to score every 3 or 4 games is no better than what we have now.

I'm not too fussed about any other statistics at this stage. We have a brilliant midfield who can do all the artsy fartsy stuff. We just need someone who is going to bang the goals in when the ball is brought up to him.
