    <doh>

    Is that it?

Cresswell has "caught the eye" of that lowlife Budgie traitor?

    Won't happen, **** off Lambert you ****...

Just saw this, woul be very unhappy if we sell him, and if we did, it would have to be for £2 million or more. We don't need to sell him, and he's under contract, so I say take a risk and keep him. We need to be signing players, not selling them! Bloody Lambert!

Tbf he's probably not worth more than £2.5 million but even if we sold him for that much I feel its a shame, just as we appear to be building a young side!!

Well, i don't think we'd sell him for £2m. If we did I would say I have possibly watched my last Ipswich Town match.

That kind of money would be hard to turn down <ok>

It would mean we are back down to zero on building an XI that could hold its own in the top flight... but with £3.5m we could make a lot more loan signings and paint the turnstiles.

I would also say that unless it's just filling column inches then £3.5m doesn't sound the kind of figure Villa would offer out of the blue. The discussion is likely to have already taken place and it's a done deal.

If its £3.5m it would be hard to reject for a 21 year old with only one years expirience at this level, as long as the money is reinvested into the side I wouldn't be too disapointed

Like others £3.5 million seems to much to turn down really and tbh I do think he is capable of stepping up to the PL!! The problem is he is one of the building blocks of the new direction we appear to be going in, i actually think although it's more money than he's worth we should turn it down because he really is a player we want at the club and it would be a backward step in selling him. But if the guy wants to go then there's no point keeping him, I just hope this story isn't true, although Sky are usually pretty accurate with this kinda stuff!!

I'm going to cry if this is true, easily one of the only players to have inspired any level of excitement from the fans in the past decade and potential to be an Ipswich favourite alongside the likes of Wilnis and Clapham etc. As I can't think of any other play past or present where the fans are united in praise for him, plus he seems like a good lad too

I agree I think he's the best LB we've had since Clapham and like you say seems a good lad too, we need 11 players like him in our team!!

But I've seen on the EADT Ipswich have apparently put a £6 million price tag on him, now how ever much i rate him, that is ridiculous(but I hope its true)!!!

£6m sounds like a good asking price. At £3.5m it's not just what he is 'worth', but whether we could replace him for £3.5m. As good as he is and as young as he is there won't be any better 22 year old English left backs.

At the end of the day cressy is worth more than £3.5 mil to us, may not be worth it in terms of current market value but to us he is worth far more as he is someone we should be building the team around.

personally I cant see the 3.5m price tag being correct
Cresswell is without doubt my favourite current town player and also the most consistantly good player we have but if any one wants to offer above 2.5m quid for him then I would accept it. The premiership is still awash with money but in the lower leagues most clubs are tight for cash at best and we could get in 2, possibly 3 decent players for that amount.

it was well known in my area that norwich scouted cresswell over much of last season. i naturally assumed there would be 'no chance' of us getting him but now lambert has moved on it makes a lot of sense that he would be after him. i hear your club is holding out for a lot more than £3.5m but when you consider gunter, an equally good full back, went to reading for less than £3m, i'd say that's a pretty good offer but no doubt you have sell on clauses with tranmere to consider. depends on what he's worth to you though!

Completely agree Spanish (did I just say that?). Though I feel my heart is ruling my head with this one!! I think it all hindges on Cresswell himself and if he really wants to go there's no point keeping him!!

Oh how that delaney story would make my day. Unfortunately as they cant even get the fact rights in relation to his contract status I take it the whole thing is a load of baloney

Completely agree. If he is a major part of the team that wins us promotion then he is worth more than £3.5m to us.

Wasn't one of the french trialists a LB? Maybe this is a done deal and we have already found a replacement.
