I had high hopes for this season after our wonderful championship winning campaign, alas, by the time we kicked off I wasn't so sure, thanks to the goons holding up selling the club and the resulting lack of funds to build a team who could compete. But we eventually got some money, we've probably spent more money than any other promoted team, but this was never going to guarantee our survival. In short I was always prepared for the eventuality that we could be in for a tough time and possibly relegation. Although I did bet my chelscum mate £50 that we wouldn't go down, ****. So I'm resigned to the possibility that we'll be back playing in some god forsaken hell holes of the country again next year. When we were relegated from the premiership back in '96, you knew it would probably be a long time before our return, and so it was. But if we are relegated, we will bounce back and stronger! But what I wasn't prepared for, and in my eyes far, far worse than being relegated, are you ready for it........... We will be back on The Football League show, with Steve ****ing Claridge. I can take the pain of relegation but not that, please god not that. Another season of having him slag us off week in and out. I feel sick. Maybe if the players were reminded that they'd have to listen to his crap it would make them want to win. I'd play like Messi to avoid that.
