Lukas ambiguous statements today are sounding ominous to me. Aaarrggh I really can't be bothered with another long summer of will he won't he dances with Utd. Will burn my shirt if we sell Luka
I was peeved to read his statements today mate. But in fairness I think he'd be mad to turn down an offer from Man Utd. Hes too good not to play CL so I wouldnt be angry i'd just be sad/annoyed that he couldnt get it at Spurs. I think too though that if Utd do show an interest City will probably come in too.
I'll be absolutely gutted if we sell him. Up until now I thought he was bound to stay but from what we are hearing now I'm not so sure. He's one of my favourite players and if we lose him it'll send a poor message out to clubs who might come sniffing around for the likes of Sandro, Bale, and Vdv
If we sell him, I'd hope it is anywhere but United, sick of them stealing our best players. Let City and Utd get into a bidding war for him.
No offence to the Croatian media, but this seems to have popped up at a very 'convenient' time and contradicts a lot of what Modric has already said. I wouldn't be surprised to see a claim of mistranslation or something similar by the player. Getting very sick of Ferguson's tactics, though. Shame he had none against Barca, eh?
The tactics would have been to pick your best players, actually have an out ball and to try and stop their midfield from dominating. Either pick Berbatov up front with Rooney in behind and a midfield with a bit of bite (Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Nani) or just leave Rooney up on his own and go with 5 across the middle. Very strange decisions by Ferguson, for my money. I'd agree about United going for Modric, but I think that they're (you're?) trying to steal a march on a possibly distracted City, who may have other primary targets and managerless Chelsea, by making a quick move. I could be wrong and this could all be posturing, to disguise a reported move for Snjeider or it could just be an attempt to damage a Premier League opponent by unsettling a very good player. Either way, I'm getting very sick of this stuff from Man Utd, frankly. We should have hammered them over the extremely dubious Berbatov transfer.
Excuse me if I'm missing something here or I'm just plain thick but surely we wouldn't sell to our rivals. Wouldn't Bale and Modric go to Europe. I remember reading that City wouldn't sell somebody to us because we were rivals so why should we sell to them?
You'd have thought so, but I was talking about his thinking in the event that we were to actually consider selling either player.
Luka is only 1yr into a 6yr deal, for what Levy would want to break that, you'll find a cheaper equivalent elsewhere...I'd miss everything but his shooting!
If there was a cheaper alternative to Modric somewhere out there surely Manure and the Chavs would sign them as well
HE IS NOT LEAVING !!! He just wants us to push on next year like we should have this year and regain Champions League football. (It would be nice to win something aswell)
