You have summed it up there in my eyes mate, Without the social media, instant communication of the internet and email etc, these ****ers would still be sitting around a camp fire in the middle of nowhere spouting their beliefs to the wildlife in the middle of nowhere..

I suppose for them it is great to have 15th century beliefs with 21st century technology as there is always some shaggy twat in an overcrowded house in East/South London with his hands down his trousers that thinks, "hum this looks interesting like'..

A bit like how I got into the Sunderland thingy 40 odd years ago..<ok>

They might target us but pulling it off is a completely different kettle of fish. I wouldn't underestimate our security mate, there's been plans for the UK similar to what's been happening in France but our security services seem to be on the ball and intercept them before they happen. Same as Egypt, our intel seemed to be bang on and ahead of the field with us coming straight out and cancelling flights.

    No, it's not.

You're interpreting education with bits of paper. That's not what decides if you are educated, not in real terms.

Also, just because you have a degree doesn't mean the world is your oyster. There are a lot of other factors which allow you to be privileged or not privileged.

I do, however, agree with your last point.

yes but for British tax payers only, You infer that our tax payers should be supporting all countries whose top brass steal the aid, which in turn sends the underprivileged to us for a better life. fook off we cannot support the worlds poor. it takes the greedy bastards in power in those countries to share the wealth, that was given freely but stolen

Fair enough mate. I think that privilege is largely irrelevant to a person who believes he will get a hundred virgins and joy in heaven for eternity.

No matter how privileged someone is, their belief about heaven is even better and it's no surprise they can't wait to get there.

I expect to be in a very tiny minority on here (probably a minority of one) but I am one of those liberal ****s and I'd still welcome genuine refugees. It may well turn out that one of last night's attackers has travelled through Greece as a refugee (though Greece has more than a little vested interest in passing on that point of view) but I think these people will find a way of getting here anyway. The vast majority of attacks are carried out by home grown fundamentalists (like 7/7) or legal visitors to a country (like 9/11). The vast majority of refugees are genuinely fleeing from a situation where they are facing this sort of **** on a daily basis and are more frightened of these bastards than we are.

I know we can't support the whole world's poor and that it is a global problem. For me that means all countries of the world sharing in the burden of relieving the situation of the most needy in the short term (refugees in genuine danger) but more importantly, all governments working together to find a long term solution and not supporting the regimes who encourage and foster this **** (like Saudi Arabia) no matter how much oil or money they have. If the countries where the real **** goes down didn't have such an unstable environment then the radical fundamentalists would find it a lot harder to prosper in my opinion.

What is it that drives someone to strap a suicide vest on and blow themselves up? The closest thing I can think of to this are kamikaze pilots or IRA hunger strikers <totally brainwashed>

The Japanese kamikaze pilots did it after Germany had fallen in 1945. They targeted the American Warships which prompted the Nagasaki and Hiroshima nuclear bomb drops to end it all..

Raqqa & Mosul anyone? You fly, I will drop them..<ok>

Oh and before the PC brigade chip in, yeah there will be collateral damage.. tough ****..

I welcome real refugees, not economic migrants mate. The vast majority are not from Syria. Also, how come no one gave a **** when Christians, who lived in Middle East for half a milenia before Islam reared its head, were being slaughtered and driven from their country? I remember one reporter was asked about it and he said something like 'The story isn't sexy enough'. When its Muslim being oppressed in Burma we all have to cry and hold hands but when its Christians in the east the vast majority couldn't give a rats arse and it ****ing pisses me off. The Archbishop of Mosul's recent word should be read, digested and understood of the enemy we face.

To those ****s who attacked Paris yesterday I say we do this; take what is remaining of their meagre body parts, put them in a bag, fill it with pig fat and dump it unceremoniously in the Seine. A most fitting end I feel.

Not much to disagree with there. There have been plenty of times our country (and every other country) has not helped people in genuine need of help, simply because they didn't feel the need as there were no headlines about it. It has happened before and still goes on today. We abandoned people in Hong Kong who had spoken out about human rights abuses in China when we moved out of there, we abandoned army interpreters in Afghanistan and Iraq who had risked their lives to save British/US lives, going even further back we didn't exactly cover ouselves in glory when it came to helping Jews trying to flee Germany in the mid and late 30s. Today there are christians being persecuted in Sudan, Ethiopa and elsewhere and they barely get a mention. I believe we (the whole world) should be helping all genuinely in danger or suffering persecution.

We can't take in everyone who wants to make a better life for themselves for financial reasons, but I think governments of all countries should be trying to adopt policies that help to develop struggling countries and adopting fairer trading practices and relationships with those countries (including seeking to get rid of those carrying out massive corruption). It is in all of our interests to see more equality between countries as it is the inequality that pushes so many to try and get in here in the first place, as well as providing a breeding ground for more sinister groups.

Same with Pakistan. Over a million Christians there who live in constant fear. The Hazara Shia's live almost singularly in a 5 mile prison in Quetta. They are being persecuted daily.

Once the Sunni become the majority in Lebanon the Christians there will face the same fate.

That was my first thought, but apparently it was a test train for the new high speed trains they are getting and they think the speed just got out of control - so not likely to be terror related. Horrible how often one tragedy just seems to follow another though.

The worrying thing about last night - Two of those cowardly ****ers were trying to get into the Stade De France. If they had got in, the death toll could have been thousands. Fundamentalists are already in the UK biding their time. We are probably going to have an attack in the future.

If we believe our security services then many attacks have already been thwarted.
