Well, that was embarrassing. To say we were complacent today is an understatement. Looked like we just expected Luton to roll over, but they didn't, I'd say they looked like the home team and we looked distinctly non-league. Other than Russell Martin, nobody on our team deserves any credit, because Rusty was excellent. Holt, Rudd, R. Bennett, Garrido all did ok I guess but then no disrespect to Luton, I would expect them to have at least an ok game. Barnett looked troubled most of the match, Howson, Jackson, E. Bennett, Kane and Fox were anonymous and Andrew Surman had a shameful game today. It's a sad day for us when a non-league team come to our ground and make us look like the away team, but we were so bad today we deserve to be WUMmed by the Binners until Wednesday at least before Tottenham will thrash us if we play anything like that. We only really had two real chances all game. I would say we were marginally better than Luton on the day actually, but considering the difference in finances and players etc we deserved to lose for such a woefully sterile performance. I can honestly say I am GLAD I didn't manage to get a ticket for today's game! Hughton needs to sort this out, we need to put a decent shift in vs Spurs!
When Russell Martin provided as much goal threat as anyone, we've got serious issues. Also very disappointed none of our midfielders, bar a tame effort from Surman, tried anything from outside the box. We just wanted to pass the ball into the net, which is never going to happen when they usually had about 6 or more players in the way.
I just said on another thread exactly the same thing. After losing to Newcastle, Liverpool and Luton in such abject style, I can't see where the next goal is coming from, never mind the next point!
Sorry, Beef, we drew - but it felt like a loss because they were so there for the taking it was untrue. More the performances and lack of telling ball distribution I was meaning
