How altruistic that people in Hartcliffe, Bishopsworth, Brislington
and Windmill Hill are concerned!! <whistle>

Do you really think they're going to take any notice of 75 'travellers' from South Bristol!!!

Now we all know that education south of the river is a little backward, but you she teds haven't got the sense you were born with.

Hopefully they don't, as I genuinely hope you get your ground. But we live in a ****ty society where they listen to the minority. Which I believe should be stopped as far as I'm concerned having a supermarket there on the site is less hassle than a football stadium.

I still believe that both clubs want a new ground. So they should join together on one site and build one together to secure the finances of both clubs, like they do in Italy. I know you lot won't share AG nor would we share yours. But a new ground where neither have previously played so has no claims on it could work. This way the ground is used every weekend shared resources and in the summer holds concerts so both have a income from it. I know some will say it needs to be in a neutral setting but in all fairness City fans are in the north of the city as Rovers are in the south.

But anyway it probably won't happen so good luck with your ground <ok>

Thanks ROD - been a rovers fan for nearly 50 years now, and I have said since the 80's that a ground share makes good buisness sense. One bill for upkeep and taxes etc - two incomes - plus summer activities. I know both teams still seem to have so-called "loyal" supporters - who won't accept change, diss everything about each other etc and wanna cause aggro, but compared to the 70's & 80's these have (thank god!) been getting fewer. I for one would welcome it, and who knows it might actually bring both clubs and their supporters closer. I have many City supporters who I class as friends - I don't want to fight them - banter yes, a joke and a laugh yes - but fight!! If it did happed (sadly can't see it in my lifetime), I really think it would only take a generation or so to get rid of the hatred and nastiness that is apparent between both sets of fans today .... oh well - we live in hope!!

I couldn't agree more with the above comments. Having supported both clubs for sixty years and because I believe football in Bristol has underachieved for pretty much all of that time, lets have one Bristol club and be done with it. No chance of that of course, because too many supporters cannot cast aside their bigotted opinions to see the benefits.

    Hardly unexpected.

The petition has been up for almost a week and has, to date, garnered a massive 81 signatures - many of which are nowhere near Horfield. I'm quaking in my boots!

Obviously, the plan for a Sainsbury's on the Mem was always going to be the difficult part of getting the UWE Stadium built. Half-arsed petitions like this one will ultimately have little or no effect on the decision made by Bristol City Council.

And Jen, don't try and fool anyone that you're actually literate enough to sign anything! :emoticon-0109-kiss:
