It's on BBC Sport: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18922208 And they don't seem to report things unless they firmly believe they're happening. Man Utd, Man City & Juventus have all made bids "in the region of £15m, but Arsenal are keen to hold out for a fee of £25-30m." How do you feel about this? Do you think he'll go? I'd MUCH rather he went to Juve than either City or Utd!! The good thing is, if there's 3 teams competing against each other, that could push his price up a lot, except that it's likely to finish with City v Utd. If he is going to be sold, I'm hoping AC Milan get involved as they have plenty of new money to spend
Reckon he's going to Juve still, which is what I said (and was ridiculed for) the day he handed in his request.
If you observe the times of the postings, I beat you by a full minute As a moderator, you really should pay more attention and not repost things that have already been put up It's just bad form old chum!!
I bet you altered the times you flipping devil Joking apart i take your point about the BBC and tend to agree that there's some truth in this story. What does piss me off is yet again there is **** all on the club's official website. The story has broken and is all over t'interwebs but as per ****ing usual there's **** all on Arsenal.com
I rather see him go cheaper to Juve than for more money to City or Utd. Objectively, it would be interesting to see Roney and Van Persie....is that wrong to say?
Once Real / Barca / Bayern are not interested they only realistic options are the manchester clubs or Chelsea. So unless we get an offer from the former group we are going to have to sell to the latter group. Honestly I would say keep him for the last year and lose the 15mn (much better chance of top 4/epl title chase) plus it gives Podolski and Giroud a year to acclimatise. Plus when he has 6 months left he can start talking to overseas clubs (EPL clubs have to wait for 1 month before contract expires (not to say they wont back door it)), which means the likely hood of him going overseas increases. And there might be a 0.000001% chance he will re sign if we are successful in the first half. If we have to sell then tell UTD - give us Berba and 10mn To City 10mn plus Dzeko or Tevez and subsidise his salary for 3-4 years To Juve doubt he will go.
According to the Guardian we've rejected a bid from Stretford F.C. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jul/20/arsenal-manchester-united-robin-van-persie
That's probably the reason why RVP tried to let the Arsenal fans know what was going on because our club moves like the illuminati with its secrets
I'm with Vela on this. I think we should keep him for his final year and screw the £15m. Even if we sold him now for £25m - would we reinvest this in another striker ? When his contract is up and he is 30 years old, he's not going to be worth much more than £10m -£15m anyway. I think he is still our best player and worth more to us than what we can get in transfer fees. For the record, I think RVP is an ungratful ****, who owes the club more than one good season. We have stuck by him through thick and thin and developed him into the player he is today.
I hope this happens, he should also be find for his refusal to take part in Asia tour, breach or contract.
Has he actually 'refused' to take part though ? Or is it the club leaving him out of the tour because of the contract situation ?
I suspose the club may be saying nothing because there's nothing to report.I notice they have published photos of RVP training at Colney today.
