Chappaz - A simple man resorts to abuse. What I said was they did not leave because they were making unreasonable demands. They all wanted paid their market value and wanted the clubs ambitions to match their own. We are not being run in a way that provided us with the means to do that. And when it really comes down to it, they left because the club accepted bids. That's my opinion, you have yours, we don't agree but is that really a reason to act like a 5 yr old? You think they are greedy bastards, I don't.

Barca players were not saying yeah he is good. They were putting shirts on him, saying he has told them he wants to be there. I think Higginbottom has made comments about wanting Barton there. Many have commented on our troubles including the Barton situation. Wenger. Its a topical subject for everyone so Nolan is bound to be asked. Pretty accurate comments for me. Players move on, its part of football, including when they outgrow their club and when they have a disagreement with the club over contracts.

I'm almost certain he left for the money. Which self respecting player moves to a worse club in a lower division with less ambition, money etc? He knew he was losing it, and very quickly and wanted the security of a long term deal. He knew he could get a longer deal than the one he had with us and for more money. He wasnt a great player but the bottom line was 4 years here on reasonable terms or 5 years at West Ham on silly money.

Genuine question. You said it wasn't about the money then said it was about the wages. This leaves me to believe that there may be an issue with your noggin.
They were not asking for market value. Nolan is almost 30 and he's already not very fit, and he wanted a 5 year contract. No self-respecting club would give him that because he is doubtful to last anywhere near that long in a first-team role on a first-team wage. Because of that, he went as far as he had to to get his contract. In this case, he gave up all of his ambition and his EPL player status to drop into the Championship for the contract and wages he wanted.

Carroll received a big wage boost in a new contract, then once Liverpool were interested, Carroll demanded yet another rise weeks later. The club naturally refused to meet the demands and told him to wait, but he decided to put in a transfer for his wage.

Purely money driven. The only person who went on the grounds of ambition was Enrique, but other factors involving him are what pissed me off.

So one situation happens with one player in Fabregas and it automatically means that it happens with 90% of players too? <doh><doh><doh>

Players do move on and it's a part of football. However, it doesn't mean we have to like it or respect it. We're not sheep.
