I get where you are coming from mate, and it's a valid point. But not all local corner rip off shops are run by Asians..Obviously it might be because of where i live.

Arkwrights were run out of business by the big supermarkets, because they operated within the law (Arkwrights that is), the replacement corner shop owners, realised there was a lucrative non legal market in kids, hence why they were able to keep the shops going. Hence the 'Locals' came about and generally operated within the law, moving the goalposts once again. It's a serious topic and affects a child's schooling.

This is why supermarkets had to bring in a maximum number of purchases on discounted offers for customers, because corner shop owners would go to them and buy in bulk, abusing the offers. I understand why they did it, but then they would go back, sell it in their shops and still charge the corner shop customers extortionate prices.

I'm prepared to pay the extra at shops like fishmongers etc. But agree the local shop type places are rip offs, and will only use when really needed.

The other month i ordered a new radiator for the honda. Went to the little motor shop, (right next to that shop where the woman got killed). Anyhow it was £120, ordered it, went back a few days later to collect. The geezer said he got more discount than he was expecting, and gave me a tenner back. I was quite shocked, as i thought i was getting a bargain anyway. Not much honesty like that left in the world...So i spent the tenner anyway on random **** in his shop.

Do you know why India doesn’t have a national football team? Because every time they get a corner they put a shop on it.
