Kids playing games in the streets. Boys played block or knocky nine doors or whatever whilst lasses did whatever the **** they did. The idea of hanging around with lasses at that age was absurd. At that age as far as i was concerned girls stunk. Now genders mix and hang around together at supermarket entrances, shouting abuse and getting chased away by the security guy. Girls being equally, if not more, abusive.
There are still a few in Uk mostly dealing in cruises and flights. Still popular here in Indonesia although most now xpecialise in pilgrimages to Meccah which you cant do online.
Interesting point about grocery stores, in particular the old corner shops, in latter decades run mainly by Asians, who ripped you off and sold cigs, alcohol and fireworks to underage kids. In fact the problem was so bad, the corner shop became more of an off licence than actually selling food items. Generally they became the lawless blight on communities. I was quite glad when the bigger chains opened up their local versions and kicked the mostly unregulated stores into touch. After all if the local corner shop was going to stock their stores from the big boys, then the big boys might as well run the local chains at a faction of the price. The days of Arkwright had long passed by that time. Some will not like this comment
Lorry drivers Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused to several luxury 4x4 vehicles after the car transporter they were being carried on struck a railway bridge. The top of a Range Rover was almost completely crushed after the accident at roughly 8am in Perth, Scotland, on Wednesday. The windshield and roof of a second 4x4 was also badly damaged. please log in to view this image Image:The accident happened at shortly after 8am in Perth. Well that's only your experience. For me I lived in a village and the local shops were run by good people who had run them for years and got priced out by faceless, large and bent corporations! Leaving us with the same ****y Tesco Express stores selling the same ****e you'll get anywhere in the country. Just killed a bit of the community. Same with butchers too. No doubt they sold fireworks round your way too
