I wouldnt drop Ba or Best, both playing very well and the link up is impressive. Ben Arfa and Marveaux need to play really well to get into this side.

Both were bought when they were older and Smith came after a long term injury. Obertan is no Keith Gillespie mind.

I think Obertan is a couple of early crosses away from being world class, I genuinely do!

His pace and touch are great, just occasionally he needs to pick his head up and whip in an early ball as opposed to taking on his defender and playing a low, pacey ball in from the byline!

Perhaps it's 'cause we had Barton at that RM spot for so long, but I do miss the early cross, just adds another dimension!

I'll drop Guti if I'm honest. Obviously when Santon comes back.. because Ben Arfa/Marvo wouldn't do much of the stuff Guti does to back-up Raylor defensively. <ok>

    Home team.. positive 4-4-2 :

    Krul
    Simpson Saylor Colo Santon
    Obertan Cabaye Tiote Ben Arfa
    Ba Best

    Away team(4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1) :

    Krul
    Sim Saylor Colo Santon
    Cabaye Tiote
    Obertan Ben Arfa Marvo
    Ba/Best (Depending on form/fitness/injuries/etc)

Agree, the guy's still only 22, I think when he hits his stride and works on his crossing we have a phenomenal player.

Miles off it I think. I cannot see him being world class. He should take a look at Tiote where he crosses from mind, 2 assists for Tiote so far, both from pretty much the same position.

He reminds me of Tino a bit in style of play.

But I made a thread on him the other day and from what I gathered from the responses and this post he is winning us over. We potentially have a cracking player who clearly is a confidence player and if we get behind him he can play with no pressure. This will mean we will get the best out of him.

I am liking how we are now starting to gel as a TEAM. I put this in capital letters as we are playing like a team now rather than a bunch of individuals.

Can I also state that its no coincidence that we are unbeaten this season while colos been Captain. He is most likely a motivator and calming influence as captain as opposed to a strong pressence and bully (Barton). This suits our players I think.

Agreed - the move to SJP is exactly what he needs. A club with supportive fans where he'll actually get a chance to strut his stuff rather than be consigned to the reserves.
I was dubious about it at first but now it seems like actually another excellent purchase.

And most importantly he's an exciting player. When he gets the ball you get that feeling you have with other flair players - that anything could happen. Just get that end-product/work rate right and he could do very well for us.
