Chance are we'll overthrow a dictator and replace him with a dictator. How do we know the rebels can be trusted? Can we even afford to play a part? What with pensioners struggling to heat their homes this winter? Will we be compensated for the money we spend on this war? What will the implications be regarding relations with China and Russia? Will intervention involve mostly our ground troops going first and taking out the bulk of the enemy like we did in Basra? Enemy easily disguised as civilians, are our troops safe on the ground? Too many questions which can't be answered at the moment. It's dodgy as ****. Without UN backing this has disaster written all over it. Don't get involved in civil wars.
Good sentiments mate, but I'm no way convinced that it is government forces that are responsible for this atrocity..For politicians to say that the al qaeda backed rebels have not got the capabilities to use chemical weapons is in my opinion folly. Al qaeda thrive on western discord, and wouldn't think twice about murdering civilians to cause it..
If your house is a mess you shouldn't go round tidying other people's. France were piping up about intervening last week, let someone else do it. Are UK & US the only countries with a military? Are China or Japan interested?
If I saw someone being mugged would I step in? Yep! If I saw someone abusing a child would I have a word? Yep! Those horrific pictures of those CHILDREN dying in agony from the chemical attack broke my heart. Should we help the defenceless, if it is in our power to do so? Of course we should! With the proviso when it's international, that it is UN sanctioned and every member state of the UN sends toops. Not just us and the Yanks. The points about the loss of our brave soldiers lives is very valid, but! That is what they signed up for, to fight for their country you can't have it all ways. Picking and choosing which battles are valid reasons to be worthy of risking their lives. They have signed up to protect this country and its interests. Being a soldier is a very dangerous job which our brave lads understand when they sign up.

Shocking as the pictures from Syria are , we shouldn't be risking our forces to end the situation there. Cameron was "elected" to be PM of this country , not policeman for the rest of the world. Keep well away imo.
After the Tony Blair, lies about WMD in Iraq I would never trust a politician to decide when we go into a fight, especially after our armed forces have been cut to the bone, that aside, if the do go it's because they are told to, I for one will support our men & women who are sent to do the job!

Stay well away. It's more a case of the Western world wanting to get another foothold on the middle east more than anything else, all this wanting to introduce democracy is a load of 5hit. Our government's couldn't give two ****s about our own people never mind people from countries like Syria. America might think they can boss the world but I'd be wary of upsetting countries like China & Russia, who are in military alliance with Iran which was their prime goal initially. They can give it the liberty & freedom crap all they like yet still they are the only nation to have ever carried out a nuclear attack.
It's hellish to watch the terror of innocents on TV but its also naive of the west to become involved in an internecine religious civil war raging across the Middle East.
