Despite the dodgy weather, it's time to hang up the parker and peacoats for another year. Need to buy myself some new light jackets and thought it's time to get myself a Harrington. Not had one for a long time.

Warrior do theirs at about £24. Anyone know if they are good quality?

Any suggestions on other Harringtons or other light jackets to recommend?

Are you after an original Harrington?

Warrior are made with a knife and fork, they're really cheap and you get what you pay for.

The Baracuta G9 is the original and it's the best, though they don't come cheap, they're £120-250(lifetime investment).

Fred Perry aren't much cheaper and they're not as good, Merc ones are £65-85 and they're not bad, £50-70 for Ben Sherman and a Lambretta one is also £70.

I'd go better than Warrior if you can, they really are ****ty.

Is the Baracuta G9 the original? If the original is the best then maybe I would.

I got a baracUta G9 but it was too small. I got the biggest size but tight on the shoulders and arms too short. I was gutted as wanted one for years.

Answered my question. Think I may invest in the baracuta, but always like a bargain. I'll cross the warrior off the list.

Looks like some are going at half price. Also some at half price on atom retro. Looks like I'll be going for a Baracuta then.

The sizing is very small, if you're ordering online, order bigger a bigger size than you normally would, possibly even two sizes.

I had a two tone Harrington by Rodeo when I was a wee boy.

Got it from C and A and hated it at first. It wasn't until the older kids at school told me it was really cool that I began to like it.

C and A, Rodeo. Doubt that will be bettered.

    That is all.

I bought my first Harrington (black) from this little market on Wright Street, right down the end on the right. Must have been early 80s. Lasted me until I outgrew it. I might have to get a replacement at some point. £65 for a G9 sounds perfect.
