I remember see the lad play and playing against him in a pre season friendly against a Ipswich XI and thought he looked like a promising young player for us...

Naturally he was released and has had to ply his trade in the lower leagues but his assist and goal for Yeovil against the Blades yesterday (after an impressive season) would suggest that he is starting to show some real class. I hope Yeovil make the step up to the Championship and I'd like to see Upson get the chance to ply his trade in the same league as ourselves.. It's just a shame that it wouldn't be in the blue of Ipswich Town

Yes but look who released him, mad dog Keane. Just a pity that Mick was not with us then, he would, I am quite sure have got more out of him, and seen something to mould him into a championship player, hopefully that is going to happen next season.

I think he's at that level where he's a good player for Yeovil but we have a lot more resources so he is not in the same league as Luke Hyam for potential, which is why he was rightly let go.

He is a name I can remember but I cant recall anyone saying he should have been near our first team or that they were upset when we released him. He has also been down there for a couple of seasons now and its only this season where he is getting some plaudits. I assume its the fact he has grown as a player since leaving us or he could possibly be a late developer (ala Tommy Miller)
Good luck to him and I hope Yeovil do get promoted but I dont think him being released by us was a mistake at the time
