It's the 3/4's of an hour after the mother had clearly declared 'They've taken her' until they called the police that puzzles me. Haway man, that's an entire half of a match, what the **** were they all doing for all that time? Even more bizarre when the mother had said, in seconds, that the girl had been kidnapped. Would you sit around all that time when you believe someone's carrying your little girl away? Not a chance in a million Mackem, you'd leave the women with the kids and split the blokes up to go running through the streets. Why didn't the other parents run straight round to their own kids, who may have also been snatched? That would be your very first thought. Jane Tanner twiddled her thumbs for two days until she happened to mention she'd seen a bloke doing a runner with someone who looked just like the girl. As if you would .............
Rule number one mate, don't let the kidnapper have all that time to get away ...... makes no sense whatsoever. The dumbest knacker on the planet would be back to the Tapas Bar asking the staff to call the police. These were all intelligent professionals used to dealing with difficult situations. How could Jane Tanner see someone taking a child away, less than an hour before, but mention nowt to the parents ....... it's all bollocks.
I've given this a lot more thought and I reckon the best way to handle it is to throw MORE cash at it and double the manpower. The truth will come our sooner or later and I suspect it will acellerate the revelelation that they are both hiding something. From day 1 their body language seemed all wrong, and this is a field I've had training in.

I also think that the early day intervention by the likes of Richard Branson, donating money and the likes of Clarence Mitchell resigning his government post to become their official spokesperson in disgust at the Portuguese authorities dare, to suspect two upstanding, highly professional British subjects of such a monstrous act has smoked-screened the whole affair. It's my opinion as well that all these law-suits they have taken out against people, the TV appeals etc, the visits to overseas appealing are more of the Clarence Mitchell ideas then their own. In other words, wether they are guilty of something or not, they are getting led by influential people who totally believed their original statements. I met Kate McCann briefly, 3 or so months ago and believe me she sure looks one anguished woman..
would it massively surprise to anyone on here..even those who might think they are innocent..if the police arrest these two within the next 2 to 3 months. I think the police have upped the anti here and waiting for cracks to show. There would be no reason at all to deploy this kind of resource unless they thought they have a real feel as to where this might go. They could well be innocent..but that certainly would surprise me.
Summat's obviously not right with this latest police move so you may be right. Surely they can't believe it was an organised gang or a bungled burglary. Why produce a new star witness who said at the time he thought the man he saw was Gerry McCann? Why produce a photo that looks like Gerry McCann? If that's intended to put the pressure on then it would be working if it was me. The mother looks closer to cracking every time you see her. I hope I'm not being unkind to her.
If they're arrested & convicted there'll still be people insisting they've done nothing wrong. There would be an instant appeal and retrial. That's why the Portuguese couldn't wait to get it off their hands.
And if they are cleared, People will still say they did it. The plot thickens Cyprus....but I do think they are waiting for one substantial piece of evidence...if they get it....you're right, they know where they are.
Sorry mate, not trying to belittle your post but you will always get people responding to something that gives them that 'I'm important' feel. If the police do get one good lead out of the 1000 calls and the little girl is found safe, then I for one would shed a tear of delight and question my gut instinct. This isn't the 60's, 70's or 80's we live in, this is now where every ounce of personal respect shoots out of the window at the mere hint of tabloid exposure and eeeee, "I rang the crimewatch phone last night and shopped whoever because it looks like the e-fit", hope it's them, I might get a reward. I get where you are coming from and I do hope there is a happy ending. Me, well I'm just being me and I cannot see that..
TBH, I didn't know several people had given the same name ........ if these are several unconnected witesses then that's pretty conclusive. Not sure how they would all know his name though.
