I have just been up to Glasgow to see a live performance of the comedy 'Still Game' with Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill - really funny pensioner stuff and not taken up seriously by the BBC here in England despite 6 series of shows, very much a Scotland thing for sure but sub-titles are available and it is very funny stuff. We have threads on here for music etc. and I wondered what things made you all laugh. Latest additions to our comedy collection have been Green Wing (somewhat behind the times here I admit but excellent nonetheless), Episodes and the new Stephen Merchant stand-up gig. So what can you recommend? Over to you......
Personally I find the posturings of Guru and JWM to be absolute comedy gold, especially the fact that when they are proved beyond all doubt to be wrong, they just carry on as if nothing has been said! Guru and JWM - the gifts that keep on giving!
Hadn't seen Stephen Merchant stand-up until recently, funny guy. I loved the Darren Lamb character in extras more than anything. Here's a brief selection!
Thanks Gandy, I will have a look at those clips later today. I think Merchant is very underrated with his 'partner' never shy about hoovering up all of the plaudits!
