Slightly off topic to our current news trends, but I've been thinking for a while.. Particularly prior to Jewell leaving how many of us are there on here and who are regular posters, browsers or simply the occasional glance etc? It would be good to know how many and who we have..... My profile tells me I post 0.8 times a day (which is something of an achievement) however I know I post more than that and I'm making up for going missing during large spells last season. Was also on 606 and been here since the beginning but becoming gradually more active (on & off). Also looking at other boards (particularly in the Championship) they seem to be complete Ghost towns, not a sniff of activity for months so my concerns about this board being a closed shop for a certain few is at least better then the likes of Derby, Blackpool etc. who could probably be closed for lack of activity So I just wanted to know who is out there, how many posts you manage to accumulate on a daily average and how often you visit these boards?
Joined this site in May of last year, visit here just about every day. Am certainly not a prolific poster, but get a lot of enjoyment in reading the thoughts of the other posters. Am also surprised at the inactivity on the boards of certain championship clubs, some are not even busy on match days, would be interesting to know why this is.
I post 2.56 times a day but it feels like more. As I sit at a computer all of my work day I normally log on when I have a coffee and at lunch time so probably on here 4 or 5 times each week day. I used to try to comment on every thread but have got slightly annoyed by posters who will just respond with insults rather than discuss the idea rasied. I also know I waffle on too much so that is trying to be changed aswell.
I'm on here everyday and feel like I post 3 or 5 (sometimes more a day) and I'm nowhere near that figure...
there are a few but its pointless name dropping - its a free board and they can do what they want. If I cant be bothered to put up with it I can always leave but I dont feel like that. I just question whats the point of putting up a large review or a (in my mind) thought out article when others can just respond with one word answers.
TB nothing is meant personally on here believe me. It would be boring if we all agreed on issues and yes I have crossed swords with you a few times but I don't mean anything nasty by it.
JWM, I dont mind arguments and think this site is great for debate. I like seeing and arguing on other peoples views but one word insults are not constructive, helpful or worth doing proper replies to. And no a two, three or four word insult would not help either
i'm a chief browser! should and will be posting more... hopefully when big mick mccarthy comes we might have something positive to talk about for once.
I was on the old 606 for about a year before it closed. I visit every day but only post in fits and farts. At the moment I'm so pissed off with Itfc I cannot find the words to comment so I'm keeping myself to myself. I have also got a few mates to sign up over the last year and sorry to say 2 of my brothers which are fairly prolific posters.
I found 606 in about 2005 I think and posted under the name IpswichTownLondoner for several years before quitting London to go on a tour of the country's women and ending up with a fine specimen in West Yorkshire. 606 really got me through my day when I had a boring desk job and I would often be on there all day, now i go on not606 on my phone whenever I'm on a train or having a dump so that's several times a day.
I found BBC606 around the end of Keane/start of Jewell time, but never posted. I signed up here and rarely post, but read every day.
Been with the group since Magiltons days, seen Hampys name get gradually longer, formerly ipswichinamsterdam and then connorsgonnatrick'em. This board is more than just debating things for me. It's a chance to do something most of you take for granted down the pub, chatting about ITFC and other football issues with fellow Townies and fans. Read everyday, post when I don't feel like I'm just repeating my responses to different (yet same) topics. Try to make threads that are not always about so and so out or predict a line up but they normally bomb.
