There's an interview from him about his Achilles injury. Interesting to hear from him directly and it makes you feel for him.

Worth a watch if anyone is subscribed to it.

Oh, and watch "Pardew Hails 'Significant' Win". He talks about Ben Arfa. Basically says that the press makes a big deal about him being a 'difficult player', but so far he's seen none of that. He also said that Ben Arfa has been great all the way through and that he knows himself it's a long road back from his injury.

Something about that tells me that it's more than his physical performance which is reducing him to cameo appearances so far. Pardew could well be sensing something more to do with his psychological make-up than anything else. A lack of confidence, perhaps.

Whenever HBA has been on the pitch since coming back from injury he's looked so fired up. Looked like the goal meant a lot to him today. Maybe the injury grounded him a little and made him realise his attitude had been all wrong before?

You don't know what you've got till it's gone sort of thing. With Marseille wanting rid and only being on loan with us, the idea of his career ending and having no club may have got to him big time.

With Ben Arfa, I think Pardew just assumed he would be difficult to manage because of his reputation and since a lot of players with his natural talent have a ****e attitude. People make too big a deal of him being left out of games, he hasnt done enough to prove he's a key player yet.

Pretty much this and I think Pardew is big on rewarding players for their efforts - ala Raylor - and HBA hasn't done enough to warrant Best completely losing his place.
