Is anyone else a bit miffed at them lately? For many years they have been my "Go to" website because they're unbiased, realistic and very reliable in regard to transfers. Lately though they seem a little more bitter and are making some strange statements, quite out of character for Niall and Biffa, like these...

    About Barton's imminent departure...

"The squad as it currently stands will win less games and collect less points without him. If Wolves and Blackpool can be charged by the FA for fielding deliberately weakened teams, can we be held to account for giving away a pivotal squad member to a rival club and thus increasing our chances of relegation?"

    About possible interest in Coloccini...

"One of United's biggest earners and under contract until 2013, Coloccini turns 30 in January. And despite our solid start to the season, a lack of investment in the SJP squad (and the departure of Jose Enrique) could make him open to a move, if not to Valencia then elsewhere."

All they're offering here is complete guesswork and tabloid style speculation.

Poor form I think. Sort it out lads

They used to be young and swashbuckling with good ideas. I get the impression they have turned into grumpy old men. Glad it wasn't just me that noticed it!!

They're reliable in terms of generally not posting anything unless there's something substantial behind it, but have been negative bastards for as long as I can remember when given any chance to speculate. It'd also be nice if the site would join this decade (or last), pages are a good thing and help visitors keep track of content, instead of constantly editing and reshuffling the home page with news.

NUFC.com used to be one of the first websites I'd look at when I went online, now I only check it out a couple of times a week. Its been sliding for a couple of years now.

I lost interest in them after their completely over the top criticism of Williamson and Simpson after the Liverpool match.

Now I still think they're very reliable but there's just too much doom & gloom. I don't expect them to **** on and be over the top positive but that statement about Barton is ridiculous, it's like something you'd expect to find on NUFCblog or Newcastle United Mad (or whatever it's called). Pretty amateurish to say the least.

I know Niall and Biffa personally and they are really pissed off with the current regime(hence their involvement in the Newcastle United Supporters Trust) and to be fair, its their website and its their opinion.

They do have their sources, and its clear they only put things on their website that has credibility. I still think its the best NUFC website going, 2 blokes who go to every game give their honest opinion and share with us what they hear.

NUFCBLOG.com is basically a rumours page now. But as Ed has been ill I guess that is to be expected.

I have been thinking the exact same thing!! They are beginning to sound very negative, which from the usual impartial perspective they have is a bit weird!!

Very true, but the whole point of the website is to gain followers and continue the level-headed approach they've been well known for, they seem to be picking up only on the negatives lately which is very uncharacteristic of them.

It's still the first site I ever visit and I thoroughly enjoy their match reports.
They need to brighton up a bit though, all is not too bad!

To be honest, i never check it anymore. I agree that the rumours on here seem a lot more realistic and unbiased. The idea that we're all deluded fans is an out-dated one:emoticon-0116-evilg

I read that Barton comment last night and thought exactly the same. I used to admire their neutral commentary but they seem to have taken on a very strong bias recently. Hope they lose that soon and get back on form because all things considered it is still the Toon site I think of first.

The NU Mad forums are worth going on (I use it myself) but the stuff the editor posts up are nothing short of utter tripe, and he is regularly castigated for it on the forums themselves.

Niall and Biffa have always wrote in that manner. It is their opinion and, even though I don't always agree with it, I always go back because I like the way they write, and the fact they don't just post up every single rumour which comes along.

I used to like the site and check it regularly, but i've just stopped going on it now. The latest lot of stuff theyve put up is embarrassing, its the type of conclusion i'd expect a mackem to come up with. Miserable gits.

Barton is finally going, so now we're going to get relegated.

    ...Yeah.
