Before some of you get excited, this thread isn't about ladyboys! Basically, I'm gonna get rid of my Sky account since they've lost the Champions League and BT Sport are showing loads of games, Sky really doesn't offer me much apart from the sports channels. I'm not really interested in going with BT or Virgin either, I was just wondering if anybody has got any info they could divulge on these media centre things, I heard of one today called the "Raspberry PI XBMC Media Centre", what the **** it is I'll never know, but it seems like maybe what I'm after. My boss has one of the sat boxes you'll find in pubs, but his only manages to pick up 700 Al Jazeera news channels and sod all else, so I'm thinking he's wired it up wrong. Surely one of you lot is geeked up enough to give me the gen on these things, I might even keep Sky and have it as well if it's worth it. BTW, when I called Sky to tell them they said "ITV are still showing the Champions League games" like that would make me stay with Sky, nuggets.

I'm aware of that, but Sky are hiking their prices by a few quid despite them offering less to the customer, so I'm looking at ways out early doors. If these magic boxes whatever the **** they do, show Sky Sports or some other channel showing the PL games then I've no reason at all to stay with Sky.

I've got Virgin at the minute cos I get staff deal, and it is ****ing woeful. 150mb broadband never hits 30mb, awful TV guide, really hard to scroll and find channels, absolute shower of ****. I'm not even gonna get sports, I have a spare lappy which I'll HDMI to the TV and watch via online sites, thus avoiding being forced to watch what games Sky have etc, and choosing what I wanna watch. Price, gratis. Up yours.
I've heard these magic boxes can stream a load of HD XXX content on demand as well. See what I did there Comm... it's like online recycling.
I hate online streams though that are 'free' they're usually full of pop-ups and stuff, not great for having 8 lads watching the football. I'm **** with stuff like that anyhow, hence the question! Ideally I just want to meet somebody who works for Sky who will give me a 100% discount on my bill forever, and a fella to wire me up to the foreign sports channels with some Turkish **** box, that has all the porn as well for when the Mrs is out, or upstairs, or asleep next to me.

Use Chrome, get Adblock extension (free, from Google..) blocks the lot, go full screeen and if you are over 20mb will be close to HD. Sound.
