In this season´s series of ´must win´ games
The next four are the most ´must´ yet,
Sunderland, Swansea then West Bromwich A
Then those who we´d rather forget

Twelve points from that lot would certainly do
And that´s how we really must think,
Draws are not much good, defeats none at all
If we are to float and not sink

And although supportive of players and boss
As I will be right to the end,
I fear even four wins may not be enough
To convince some fans not to send...

...Mr. Hughton packing when summertime comes
For what they call a dismal show,
But whether McNally is in the same mind
I guess we´ll have to wait to know

But please fellow ´not´ers´ put aside the gloom
At least for the next week or so,
For a win on Saturday next could just be
What it takes to get them to go

And surely we all would prefer that we stay
Up here on the loftiest perch,
I know that I do, regardless of who
Or what, people pray for in church

And if we should keep our place in this league
And those whose decision it is,
Still decide to try a new man at the helm
Hughton, at least will have done the biz

And that, to me matters as I´m sure it does
To him, as an honourable man,
If he has to leave, then far better that way
Than as ´he who dismantled our plan´. OTBC

Every time Hughton goes into a game which looks likely to be his last, he alaways seems to pull a rabbit out of the hat. I fear, however, that his time is now well and truly up and I can see a defeat coming on Saturday and the crowd throwing dog's abuse at him. IF this happens there is only one man to blame and that is David McNally for not acting sooner. Chris Hughton may be a 'nice man', but he sure as hell isn't a great football manager.

Just found this and I agree with virtually every word

I read it an hour ago KIO, and I have to say I felt quite sick that anyone supposing to be a City fan, could harbour such apparent hatred towards the man, but that probably says more about me than whoever it was that wrote it (he didn´t see fit to leave his name).

The only thing that is going to help to get us out of this, is support, support, and more support, not recrimination and mud-slinging.

Whether we'll stay up or go down, credit to David McNally for showing a bit of loyalty and support to the manager, pretty rare in modern football nowadays and as a supporter I'm proud our club is showing some dignity.

To say CH isn't a great football manager is a bit daft too, after what he achieved at Newcastle and Birmingham he clearly knows a thing or two about football than any of us, but for what ever reason it's just not falling into place at NCFC.

As for the Sunderland game on Saturday, I can feel the nerves coming on now lol

hi RBF, well i hope the home crowd gets behind the team on saturday, regardless of how people feel about the manager, because the team needs it for sure

I try and be objective but I am of the opinion that a win this weekend is vital. If we don't I fear we have had it. Our away form is killing us.

    Great post RBF <ok>

I do remember laughing a lot of you off the park when Hughton was appointed. He has always been inept and got lucky to be leading the talent at Newcastle. The focus is obviously on getting behind the team for the remainder of the season and there's still a good chance you'll stay afloat, but after that what's the consensus?

One thing I will agree about is the man's integrity <ok>

Hampy - I think it´s pretty clear that the majority of fans want to see the back of him, however and wherever we finish this year, but there´s only one opinion that really counts, and that´s McNally´s, so we honestly don´t know.

carrabuh - that might even have been quite funny if I thought you didn´t mean it, how about just getting behind him?

Me getting behind him will have absolutely no influence on whether we stay up or not.

We are on a football forum, not writing "DOWN WITH NCFC" placards and taking them to the games.

Don´t worry, I wasn´t expecting you to change your mind, in the same way as I won´t be changing mine. :)

Can I just clarify then RBF and Carrubah. This is a draw but is it a scoring draw or a non-scoring draw?

I was just looking at your fixtures (as well as those of the other teams at risk of relegation )
Your next four games are " 6 pointers " followed by your last four games in the Premier League ( I fear ).horrible last 4 fixtures to have
    Good Luck ( sincerely ) - you'll need it.

But we've been here before have we not?A scrappy one-nil win against Sunderland combined with defeats for Cardiff and Fulham and suddenly we are seven points clear of eighteenth..I am in no way convinced that we wont get two or three points from those "Games of Death" either.
