Nothing changes, it's the 13th day, Covid is still rampant, rumours are trickling in and out but nothing happening , matches cancelled, we won a cup game at the Gate, League 1team only, v Portsmouth, contract talks with Fammy are ongoing, our injury list continues unexplained , in fact here is another unexplained mystery from our medical rehab dept ~ Mystery of Bristol City's former no.30 solved as another injury affects Robins Promising central defender has been missing for most of the season. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mystery-bristol-citys-former-no30-4883711 Current senior squad injuries/missing players: Callum O'Dowda, out for 10-12 weeks with a hamstring injury Jay Dasilva, shin complaint may leave him on the sidelines for much of the rest of the season Jamie Paterson, hip injury has led to surgery - out for 3-4 weeks Nathan Baker, hamstring tear and out for several weeks still Steven Sessegnon, hamstring tear and yet to return Andi Weimann, ACL injury Liam Walsh, yet to play this season after quad injury last summer Joe Williams, thigh and hamstring injuries meant he has yet to make his debut Opi Edwards, calf strain picked up in training Kasey Palmer, had a positive COVID-19 test and unavailable Aden Baldwin, hamstring tear + Chris Brunt, released from his contract early after calf injury Mark Ashton has not appeared, not been seen, not a peep, not a sound, I wonder why? Nothing changes, nothing to report.
Given the revelations of the past week and the lies, half truths and evasion, we are being spoon fed, the cynical side of me says the positive covid test for Palmer seems convenient, he was pretty much the last loaner to return to the club, I wonder whether he is enthused by the prospect of being back, I suppose the next few weeks might answer that. Fair play to Mcgregor for pursuing this story, Ashton has been strangely silent and the company line seems to be say nothing.
'Mark Ashton has not appeared, not been seen, not a peep, not a sound, I wonder why?.....' Maybe he's hiding away because he hasn't got Lee Johnson to be his whipping-boy and take the blame for his decisions?
When will Palmer be 'COVID clear' to play again? He has been back 8 days now, and our next game isn't for another 3 days, so maybe just too soon for him to feature vs PNE?
But has LJ's assistant whipping boy who is doing a great job of sticking to the company line so far, when he should be defending and making sure his players are being properly rehabilitated and cared for.
