Here we are three games in and the same old problems are still with us.In the Liverpool game neither Larsson or Mclean got past the full backs to the goal line, every time Mclean got the ball it was either passed back or square, agreed Sess didnt have a very good game but the service he and Fletcher got was very poor,With the midfield we have things are likely to be the same as we dont create hardly any chances,Charlie Adam would have been a very good signing,a player who can create chances.Going to the MK game hope things improve.HAWAY THE LADS.

I think McClean looks much better with Johnson - he is our main threat and when he's marked out of a game he'll find it difficult
If Johnson plays then him and McClean can swap sides and will cause problems as teams can't double up on both wingers - Larsson isn't quick enough to beat a man - never been pacey but his delivery is excellent - Fletcher and Sessegnon aren't fit yet (although the way Fletcher is going you wouldn't know it!)
We've played 3 games this season and got 3 creditable points - everyone expected us to win on Saturday prior to the H9illsborough enquiry but as soon as that was announced you knew Liverpool were going to be more up for the game - A week earlier I think we'd have beaten them

i agree about Adam but don't worry Colback is the saviour and will have us knocking on Europe's door with his neat and tidyness!!! (lets just forget about goals, assists and breaking up play though)

    Charlie adam can tackle? Hahahahahaha
Might have a good shot and assist a few but he's a disgrace and gets sent off more times than Catts...
One of the most overrated midfielders in the league

He's twice the player Colback is!

I'd say Colback is the most overrated player in the Sunderland squad

Does little but loved for no apparent reason!

Look at other thread for opinion...

Charlie Adam is also at least 5 years older than Colback... therefore much more developed in terms of a player...

thats because Colback is consistent and plays well just about every game...

he does a lot for the team nl2...do you go to matches?

We need to get Craig Gardner back in midfield IMO. A lot of people had a go at him last year for giving the ball away but the reason is he has a go at going past players and going forward instead of passing sideways or backwards. Our goal came because of him going forward, he had a bit of luck yes but he took the defenders on and had a go. Colback etc... would have stopped and looked to go backwards. It was Henderson's problem when he played for us too. You have to play Catts or Colback in midfield not both of them.

Has Jack Colback just shagged your sister up the wrong'n and then posted the pictures on facebook or summit pal? You have been on his case for the last 2 days ffs?

Having seen my fair share of lumps of ****e in Sunderland shirts, masquerading as midfielders over the decades, I can tell you this lad isn't bad at all. He is still developing and has come on leaps and bounds since he broke into the team barely 2 seasons ago. He is a model pro and for me, can break up play, tackle and always passes to his own player (which is a bonus for a Sunderland player over the years).

His big let down is his shooting or goals return but thats not what we want form him anyway. We have AJ, Larsson, McClean and Sessegnon in midfield for that purpose.
