a fan specific forum? Seems odd you'd all join a site like Not606 (ie a site people join to mix with other fans) to then go to an exclusive newcastle forum, surely there are tons of them already?

 

Just had a look at the new forum and good luck to Skalpel but not606 wont die, be smaller on some boards maybe, including Newcastle and Sunderland but it wont die.

We have new people join every day, some stay, some go and it can be very quiet at times, thats life. I go on SMB from time to time for Sunderland only chat but this is my main forum. The new toonforum will have members who stay there, some will leave and some will use both and thats good. ja started and exactly the same thing, there really is room for all and once you settle and stop competing life is good.

When ja started I deleted every mention, silly but thats the first reaction, why, its no secret, we all have our likes and dislikes but it realy is just a football forum.

 

Syd, your right, NOT606 won't die........it just won't be the default place for Newcastle fans who were on here.

Not606 scored an own goal so many times ( and you to be fair were in the thick of it) I've lost count. From GC, filth, Speedogate,inability to deal with cross threads , no-mags rule....yes that was a hiccup, but still an own goal for many.

So I think the real reason for the exodus has been Newcastle had the biggest section so it was probably time to think about a WUM free forum ( I'm not even sure GC attacked Bolton or Wolves sections) and have rational debate and banter without the constant threat of sickos/*****s/WUMs.........

I'm certain Not606 benefited from the demise of 606 and it morphed into a really great forum ( I for one used it exclusively) but things have a habit of changing, much like life. Not606 will go on and yes it will attract new members simply because of word of mouth over a good year. No-one really wishes it ill, but as many have pointed out to me recently, it has been around for ages ( well before the Jan2011 influx) and had its' roots in the SPL.

I really don't think the other big sections of Not606 ( GC and Sunderland) will miss the Mags.......the feelings probably mutual .

 

I'll tell you what pissed me off with this place. Mackems. I used to enjoy going there and for many months it was generally good craic. Then lately, you could go on and say "alright lads" or similar, and get abuse, even from some of the ones who used to be OK. (I know I could have just not gone on their board). I don't post on their board now just to save the hassle. Never used to wum at all, but some of their posters have serious attitudes to black and whites.

 

I would like to be able to browse both forums so can someone possibly PM me the link to the new one please?

Its all well and true having a NSFW in a thread title,but when at work and your opening an innocent looking thread only to find blokes with sea creatures up there arses, gay porn and snuff is it any wonder i moved over to the new site.

Its a shame because i really enjoyed not606

 

Some OTT reactions in my opinion, yes we had problems with Speed and cross threads, actions were and are now being taken to stop that but how many posts were involved.

Mackems and abuse, how many, a handful most enjoy debate and it goes on, this problem is not exclusive to mackems. I say again I have no problem with the new forum or indeed any new forum, many will take a look, some will stay there and other will leave or use both.

At the end of the day not606 is what it is, in the main GC stays on GC and mackems stay on the Sunderland board, the board is not and never will be not606's its yours to build, shrink, improve or leave. If you are leaving you will be missed but good luck, if you are staying in some form, full time or just pop in for a look, great.

 

Don't think its OTT reactions at all. There's only so much people can/ want to put up with before deciding to just leave.
Sick pictures every single day/ cross threads by GC lot have killed it. I didn't sign up to not606 to see the resident 4chan wannabes infest the Newcastle sub-section with their ****. It's gotten incredibly tedious and boring.

 

Syd, the abuse we get if we venture on your board is ****ing ridiculous. Take your red and white blinkers off man. I got grief the other day for suggesting, quite helpfully to one of your lot, that the A1 might be busy FFS. According to some, I was over there wumming!!!!

 

oh that's great. people will only occasionally get fired for accidentally browsing some 4chan **** on a SPORTS forum . Mick has cocked it up for himself by sitting back and letting the idiots have their way

 

I don't think the sites are rivals as such, only as much as one forum is to any other. It is a bit different and takes some getting used to, but I for one am loving the new layout, some of the users on there may have noticed.

 

damn can't believe loads jumped ship, in the matchday thread was pretty dead too on sunday

 

It's hard to miss seeing as your posts are everywhere!

 

If people don't want to read those type of messages, we all know who are sending them they can block them. When I had a work placement I never once went on while there. Also think Syd is trying hard to give the mods on each forum to have more power to deal with these type of people.
