The following were let go by RD's Charlton for free or for trivial amounts and are now plying their trade with clubs higher placed in the league system: Chris Powell and Alex Dyer Phil Chappell Yann Kermorgant Dale Stephens Michael Morrison Diego Poyet Dervite is at his level with Bolton (below us) but is still better than Sarr. In addition Joe Gomez was apparently transferred for insufficient money, although we should perhaps see how he recovers from a serious injury before adding him to the list. Have I forgotten anyone?
I think Diego Poyet is probably not in the same bracket as the rest. It was a while back, but my recollection was a chain of errors starting with the previous regime not having the wit or the money to give him a better and longer contract when he was still on the fringe, CP for not realising that he had a real gem hidden in the u21's, despite some of our regulars here saying so (and berating CP for never going to the reserve games), and finally the new lot being too slow and too tight fisted when it became clear we might be about to lose a pivotal player. No credit for most of that list, but not exclusively an RD/KM disaster, unlike Morrison or (gulp) Kermogant. Sadly, our recruitment of players is so myopically bad I doubt that idiot RD even realices what he has lost yet, nor will until someone in the club with a pair grab him round the neck and make him watch the whole 90 minutes of the Preston disaster.
Poyet was mismanaged. KM gave some tripe after he left, and sadly many fans trusted her then. I'm not convinced he'd still be here, but I'm sure the club went against their word about contract renewals and then signing wiggins up.
I would say so. Currently third in tier 2, level on points with Nancy in second. Dijon are top. They're mustard!
