Have to say Im not impressed that it looks like we are allowing Ainsley to walk away. For me he has put in one of the better RB performances and the best cross of the season in his one full game for us. Surely that is something to build on. Its also cover for both RB and CB and we are hardly filled in either position.
We keep allowing younger talent to walk away but keep the serial underachievers. I just sometimes dont understand the logic.

That game was quite a while ago, but he really made an impression on me too - didn't put a foot wrong the entire game, put some fantastic crosses into the box, and was punished by loosing his place straight away. Very odd

You would not be saying this if you had witnessed Towns exit from the Suffolk premier cup recently, the lad who played upfront for Felixstowe & Walton gave him problems all night, he is not good enough at this level, I am not sure he is for Football League full stop..!

I suppose that is the problem Hoppers. Im going on what I have seen and it really did impress me but the coaching staff see them day in, day out and have seen them in reserve matches or the other games that us fans normally dont take into account.
it just annoys me when I witness experienced players like Edwards and Martin look totally ineffectual each week yet I have seen Ainsley perform and now he looks like leaving us.

Very true, my opinion is based purely on 1 game that happened months ago, but even so he clearly had talent. I guess only time will tell!

No, have to agree with most of the others here, he is just not good enough for the championship, gets caught out of position often, and has no ability to read the game, good luck to him, but we must bear in mind only a minority of young players at any professional club get into the first team and play regularly. Must admit, had a shock when I saw he needed a trial at Bury, did not think he was that bad, thought they meant Bury Town.

Only annoyed because he's another academy product thats not made it. Which, removing the question of Ainsleys talent as an individual, is a valid annoyance.

Sometimes its hard to remember we do have Hyam and Smith as recent academy successes. Hopefully Lawrence in the relitively near future. The conveyor isn't has stopped as we convince ourselves it is.

I geuss the thing is aswell. Under Royle we were playing youngster all the time alot of whom had limited ability yet they still performed admirably and now we have million plus players and they're useless!! I geuss Ainsley ultimitely wasn't good enough but at the same time he probably couldn't have done any worse than alot of the players we've had for the past few years!!

It seems the overall view is that his brilliant game was more of a one off than a performance he was capable off. If he can rediscover that performance he would have the makings of a cracking player but I will bow to the superior knowledge of supporters who have had a view of him over a longer period of time.
